What is Prayer
We often associate prayer with asking for something a means of getting what we want, an answer to a problem we need to solve. It can be a request to have something in form such as a house, new car, relationship etc. In this talk, we will discover that these are not really prayers. What we are asking for is better illusions to build a better self-concept. In A Course in Miracles a prayer is a letting go of everything we think we know and want, allowing the truth to reveal it’s self to us. Prayer is a giving up of the self we made to return to loves presences.
Our problem lies in this split between a body identity and our Spirit identity for both we cannot have. One must be false and one must be true. “Although you are one Self, you experience yourself as two; as both good and evil, loving and hating, mind and body. This sense of being split into opposites induces feelings of acute and constant conflict and leads to frantic attempts to reconcile the contradictory aspects of this self-perception. You have sought many such solutions, and none of them has worked. The opposites you see in you will never be compatible. But one exists.” W-pI.96.1.
For us to know our true Self and let go of the split mind we can follow this prayer from A Course in Miracles as a guide to letting go of everything we think we know “Simply do this: Be still, and lay aside all thoughts of what you are and what God is; all concepts you have learned about the world; all images you hold about yourself. Empty your mind of everything it thinks is either true or false, or good or bad, of every thought it judges worthy, and all the ideas of which it is ashamed. Hold onto nothing. Do not bring with you one thought the past has taught, nor one belief you ever learned before from anything. Forget this world, forget this course, and come with wholly empty hands unto your God.”- A Course in Miracles W-pI.189.7.

A Better Approach to Gut Health!
This week, Dr. Judy is pleased to welcome Holly H. Ganz, PhD, CEO and founder of AnimalBiome, based in San Francisco, California. When she's not studying the microbiomes of pets and wild life, Holly can be found roaming the East Bay hillsides with her rescued herding dogs, Yuki, Charlie, and Darwin. Holly, who received her PhD from UC Davis in the study of co-evolution between microbes and animals, is a microbial ecologist who has published more than 20 papers. Her efforts to translate academic research into solutions for animal lovers began in 2015 when she launched KittyBiome, a citizen science project that she started while working at UC Davis. From that project, she found that imbalances in the gut microbiome are common in pets and that there is a pressing need for better approaches to maintain gut health and potentially prevent the development of many chronic health conditions. In 2016, she founded AnimalBiome where, using revolutionary science to improve animal health, they provide assessments of the bacterial composition of the digestive tract of dogs and cats and the supplements needed to restore balance to the gut microbiome. Above all, Holly is an animal lover, dedicated to improving health and wellness so you’ll want to listen and learn as she talks about gut health with Dr. Judy and how AnimalBiome is using the latest innovations in microbiology to solve chronic problems.

How to get Clarity in Life and in Menopause with Becks Armstrong and the Clarity App
Life, and in particular menopause can be such a rollercoaster. One moment you are 0doing just fine then – BAM! – it can feel like you’re losing your mind.
It’s easy to get angry about your hormones and the havoc they’re wreaking. To resent the changes that are happening in your bodies, try to ignore them or wish they weren’t there. But all this does is make you more stressed – and that makes your symptoms even worse.
The good thing is, you're not alone. Women are no longer suffering through their menopause in silence. Thankfully, the landscape’s changing. We’re now opening up, sharing and learning from each other’s experiences. And one of the most exciting things we’re learning is how mindfulness can help to alleviate menopause symptoms.
Mindfulness is the perfect way to navigate life, as well as menopause.
It teaches you to calmly observe how you’re thinking and feeling in a non-judgemental way. By becoming more aware of your symptoms, you can allow yourself to accept them rather than wasting precious energy wishing things were different.
With practice, you become able to ‘befriend’ your symptoms, learning how to experience them in the present moment. And this makes them far less stressful While mindfulness can’t cure your symptoms, it can significantly reduce them. It gives you valuable tools to cope with insomnia, anxiety and any hot flushes/flashes as they’re happening.
What is mindfulness? Mindfulness is really just stopping what you’re doing and becoming aware of what’s going on with you in the present moment. It’s as simple as that. Mindfulness is about paying attention to your breathing and the sensations in your body, such as the feeling of your hands resting on your legs or the way your feet are connecting with the floor. It’s a type of meditation but don’t let that put you off. You don’t have to sit cross-legged on the floor for an hour. Even just 5 minutes spent ‘checking in’ with yourself can help you feel more connected, grounded and at peace with your feelings.

The lush, minor ballad “Water Rising” follows, and then the hypnotic, minimalist “The Emerald Carpet”. “Take Me” is a light Hawaiian folk song with a ragtime bent, and “Oh Holy Ground” is a jazzy, mesmerizing soul improv with adventurous piano from Bob. We close with another folk ballad from Mariam, the clear-eyed “Listen To Your Heart Song”.
