Elli and Sheryl will explore the fusion of science and spirituality, preventative medicine or energy medicine, in understanding wellness and disease. Elli received a full inoculation of science at Revelle College, UCSD, tempered by a year abroad in Tokyo followed by a Delta Omega Honor Society inducing Master’s degree in Public Health. Working in clinical trials and research at UCSD Dept. of Preventative Medicine was pure science in action, and yet, she didn’t feel that her understanding of “di-sease” was complete.

Paul Sevett began his dance therapy education at the University of Wisconsin over 30 years ago. He became a practicing dance therapist after receiving his MA degree from Goucher College in 1983 working in a variety of psychiatric settings in Maryland, Washington DC, and Minnesota. The focus of his work has always been utilizing the natural wisdom of the body and its energy to promote the integration of body, mind, and heart. He continued this exploration becoming a certified practitioner of Zen Bodytherapy® , Integral Bodywork® and energy healing using the Three Heart Balancing™ technique. Paul is a past member of the ADTA Board of Directors and its incoming Chair of the Standards and Ethics Committee. He has taught workshops and a webinar on ethics, teaches a course on ethics and boundaries for a professional massage and shiatsu therapy school, teaches Dance/Movement Therapy classes, and Three Heart Balancing™ healing classes. We slide straight into the compelling “Song Of Love” through a lush motif featuring didjeridoo and native flute. We follow the break with another languid, summer-scented piece called “Spread Your Wings And Fly” featuring compelling poetry from Mariam and lyrical mandolin from Dameron. The playful, sprawling final song today is “Windy Windy Waves” a piece in two parts featuring Mariam’s island-inflected ukelele and the vocals of Bri Elizabeth and baby Wakenyan.
