Embracing Divine Simplicity: Moving Beyond Judgment to See God's World
David: Jesus taught us that our entire perception is built on judgment and fragmentation but that God Himself will wipe away all tears. He teaches us that our tears stem from our judgments. We perceive the world as fragmented because we judge, but we see a happy world when we cease to judge. God’s world is always there for us to see, and there is no external world apart from our mind. Judgment is not necessarily condemnation but rather the act of categorizing and giving false names and labels to things that don’t truly exist. Nothing exists in and of itself; nothing was meant to exist separately from everything else. We break our world into many pieces, naming and labeling them, which leads to more complexity. The ego created the world of specifics, and it continues to grow more complex with each new label. In today’s world, education has become increasingly specialized, shifting focus from simplicity to complexity. Our minds are constantly learning and over-learning. However, when we unlearn this complexity, we can hear divine guidance and sink deeper into the silence that needs no words to define it. She believed that true peace begins within individuals and that people could contribute to world peace by achieving inner peace. Her journey was not just a physical one but also a spiritual quest. She lived a simple life, relying on the kindness of strangers for food and shelter, and she spoke about her beliefs at churches, universities, and on radio and television. Peace Pilgrim's teachings emphasized the importance of balancing wants and needs, living in harmony with others, and following one's inner calling.

In this podcast, Martin Merayo and David Hoffmeister meet for the first time to engage in an open, heartfelt discussion about the practice of A Course in Miracles (Un Curso de Milagros). The meeting was inspired by a mutual student, Alejandra Berrueto, who helped arrange the meeting of Martin and David. As Martin was already in Mexico conducting a workshop, David invited him to La Casa de Milagros to share his unique experiences with our Living Miracles community.
MORE ABOUT MARTIN MERAYO:
Martin Merayo is not only a prominent Un Curso de Milagros teacher and facilitator but also a talented Argentinian musician and conductor. His musical journey began with formal studies in orchestral conducting, later branching out into the heavy metal scene. After 15 years of studying the Course, Martin felt called to share its transformative lessons with others.
Despite challenges, including being fired from his conducting position, Martin found new purpose in teaching and writing. Encouraged by his girlfriend, he began sharing his spiritual journey through YouTube videos, which quickly gained popularity. Today, Martin travels the world, offering lectures and workshops centered on Un Curso de Milagros. His mission remains focused on learning, practicing, and inspiring others to embrace the Course.

The Bible speaks about seeing the world through a darkened glass, like having dark sunglasses on. We perceive a world of darkness, with separate people, places, things, situations, and events. Jesus teaches that the world was made in hatred and is a place where God cannot enter, but we are not fully aware of this. We are beginning to realize that nothing is what it seems—but distorted and fragmented. It's like a psychotic break from reality, as everything has multiple voices and interpretations.
No two people see the same world, as only one mind dreams of exile from God but projecting a private world of private thoughts. This movie workshop encourages us to see beyond this world to a lit-up world reflecting truth, oneness, love, and forgiveness.

David's movie commentary dismantles our belief and perception of linear time, private thoughts, and people-pleasing. Private thoughts are defense mechanisms against the Holy Instance, love, light, and simplicity. Jesus teaches that the present moment is the closest approximation of eternity, and all mystics and saints emphasize being present and being a bringer of God's love. However, the linear world of time and space is like a mask pulled over, made out of specialness. Specialness is the ego that made this world. This goes beyond the concept of special relationships and what many people think about special relationships. Everything that seems to exist independently is specialness.
David's movie commentary helps us disassemble our faulty perceptions. God did not make trees, the world, or time. He also explains that nothing real can be threatened, and therein lies the peace of God.

David’s talk relates to the movie Mully, starring Charles Mully, who is a powerful example of prayer, listening, and following. It unites us with the Holy Spirit, Jesus, and the Creator, focusing on our heart's desire to remember God. The movie takes place in Kenya's slums, highlighting the importance of prayer in achieving spiritual growth.
Charles must pray through this world and receive and follow inner messages. Spiritual awakening often doesn't emphasize prayer, listening, and guidance. To fully wake up from a dream, one must grasp the power of prayer and the power of the mind. We must believe in guidance, whether it's an inner voice or intuitions and feelings. We must follow the guidance which leads to joy, presence, laughter, and giggles. The gifts of prayer, listening, and following come from a deep connection with God and the power of the mind. If one has faith in prayer and is willing to give themselves wholeheartedly, everything unfolds gracefully.
