Recorded live at Singing Brook Studio in Worthington, Massachusetts in mid-May of 2025, today’s show begins with the mystical, mysterious “Misty Love”, a careening rocker with fine work from the ensemble on congas, ukulele and piano and “Woody On The Roof” is a charming folk ballad about the woodpecker on Mariam’s roof. “Calling In The Ones” is a reverent, evocative minor ballad that grows into a rich, soul-influence workout with gorgeous Native flute passages and rich piano and “Calling In The Girls” is a rollicking, ancient-sounding fundamental folk ballad about the frogs in the spring pond shot through with the energy of Mariam’s dancing dulcimer and vocal. “Full Moon Part Two” is a beautiful, strange moon song replete with lunar chords and Mariam’s expressive vocal and “Old Friends” is a pretty, driving folk song with another fine vocal from Mariam and galloping Native drum from Craig. “To The Vision” is fantastical, imaginative, compelling rock song, the fine ensemble work featuring Native drum, exploratory piano and soaring Native flute setting the stage for Mariam’s powerful, narrative lyric.
