A Love Story with Leadership Expert Lance Secretan When Lance Secretan’s soul mate, Tricia, passed away, he was brokenhearted. During the darkest days of his grief, he wondered how he could draw a message of hope and joy for others from his own sadness. Everyone admired, and was inspired by, Lance and Tricia’s happiness together and frequently asked them to share their secrets. Lance felt the world needed to hear from behind the scenes about their remarkable union. Over the 30 glorious years of their partnership, Lance had written many poems for Tricia. Lance is best known for his expertise in leadership and as an advisor to leaders, not as a poet, so he was hesitant about sharing this private part of his life. Lance describes the arc of his and Tricia’s lifelong romance by wrapping the story of their journey together around 25 never-before-published poems. The result: A Love Story: An Intensely Personal Memoir, was released December 2015. It is a beautifully designed book, crafted in the old-fashioned way, and the reviews—loaded with glowing praise—have been extraordinary.

Singer Songwriter Cheryl Branz
How do you balance "real life" with the pursuit of your passion? Yes! it is possible to have a real life, with a real job and still be able to do whatever it is that makes your heart sing. It just requires you to FLAUNT! a bit!
Learn how Cheryl Found her Fetish, Laughed our Loud, Accepted Unconditionally, Navigated the Negative, and Trusted in her Truth and ended up having a successful career owning her own business, as well as a successful career as a singer and songwriter.
Using faith, trust, humility and humor, learn how Cheryl went about Building her Dreams and Living Her Sparkle!
Cheryl's been singing most of her life. One of her earliest performances was an a cappella rendition of Debby Boone's "You Light Up My Life" in her 3rd grade talent show. She proudly sang every verse, every chorus and the bridge. She was unstoppable. In the 5th grade, Cheryl started playing the flute as part of a school band requirement. In hindsight, this was a poor instrument choice as it was impossible to play and sing (or talk) at the same time. In the 9th grade, Cheryl switched from band to choir in order to be in a class with more of her friends (not to mention the cute male choir teacher) and that's when singing started taking over her life. Cheryl has paid her musical dues through the years in school choirs, community choirs, church choirs, a cappella choirs, musicals, performing for weddings and funerals, and even singing backup in a band. She holds a Vocal Performance Music Minor from the University of Northern Colorado. Yet it wasn't until 2001 (inspired by other singer/songwriters such as The Indigo Girls, Jewel and Sara McLachlan) that she picked up a guitar for the first time thanks to an ad she saw for a Spokane adult continued education class that had the headline, "Have you always wanted to play the guitar?" Yes! Yes she had.
She honed her guitar skills by performing in a female folk trio and a male/female duo performing cover songs and working on her own songs before breaking out solo in late 2005. Cheryl's debut cd, Disappear, was released in 2006 and features her spot on vocals and honest lyric style. From the upbeat, carefree, Flip Flops to the emotional ballad on adoption, Waiting On A Miracle, Cheryl sets the stage for her listeners to become a part of the music. Following that successful release, Cheryl took her skillful vocals to new heights in 2009 with "The Christmas Gift" - a collection of holiday favorites. Combining her talents with award winning producer Tom Prasada-Rao, the two created a perfect soundtrack for the season blending elements of folk, jazz and classical styles in one seamless package. From the prayerful Ave Maria to the playful Santa Baby the cd captures a classic, timeless feel of superior musicality. Cheryl was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest and the original song, Skating, on "The Christmas Gift" was inspired in part by the winters there. Written for her mom, who was a professional skater in the Ice Capades, Skating speaks of the hopes of a young girl with a big dream...a fitting parallel for the now grown up singer/songwriter Cheryl Branz.
And, if you've read this far, there's one other piece of information that might be fun to know. Cheryl is not a full time musician. She is the proud second generation owner (along with her husband) of a family business - Jim Custer Enterprises. In her day job, she goes by Cheryl Custer-Branz. Jim Custer Enterprises has been a fixture in the Spokane region for almost 40 years producing incredibly popular consumer show events, including the Spokane Home & Yard Show.

The Gaea Star Crystal Radio Hour with Mariam Massaro

Saturday Sep 03, 2016
Gaea Star Crystal Radio Hour #228 was recorded at Singing Brook Studio in Worthington, Massachusetts on a sultry August afternoon and features Gaea Star Band members Mariam Massaro on vocals, harmonica, acoustic guitar, native flute and sitar and Bob Sherwood on piano and table as well as special guest Jay Lynch on hand drums. Today’s first piece is the drifting, contemplative “Dedicated To The Starry Night” which features Mariam on vocals, acoustic guitar and chimes and Bob on piano. “Double Winged Dragonflies” grows from Mariam’s inspired poetry with a mystical melody and flourish-filled, dramatic piano. Beautiful, full-throated native flute from Mariam and Beatlesque piano motifs from Bob define this pretty summer ballad. “Papajawigi” and “We Love You Mother Earth (Just The Way You Are)” are summer forest prayers woven into the larger narrative and feature more evocative native flute and simple, open piano motifs. For Mariam’s “Spirit Of Fire” we are joined by Jay Lynch on hand drums for a beautiful, somber rendering of Mariam’s 2013 “Vision Quest” track. “Fire In Our Bellies” is another “Vision Quest” track, her rendered as a lovely prayer in minor. “Amaru Machay” is another great song from Mariam, this one from 2011’s album “Gaea Star Goddesses” which we interpret as a jazzy, open minor blues. “Goddess, Goddess” another beautiful number from Mariam follows, and for today’s final piece, the mystical, droning “Hummingbird”, Mariam plays the sitar. Joined by Bob on tabla and piano and Jay on deep pulsing drums, Mariam completes today’s summer journey with lush poetry and mysterious melodies of reverence.

Social Neurobiology, Positive Psychology and Mirror Neurons : A Conversation with Bobbie Burdett
Bobbie Burdett is a life coach, a trainer of life coaches, director of training for Health World online. The focus of her coaching is authenticity. Among the fascinating things we will explore will be the field of Social Neurobiology. The work of Dan Seigel in this field has verified what many of us have believed all along, that It’s impossible to truly address the health and well-being of an individual simply by treating the mind and the body – that interpersonal relationships are of crucial importance. After all, the human infant – at birth the human brain is only 25% formed, the other 75% forms as a result of pathways laid down by social interactions – with family, school, community, etc. We’ll learn about the central importance of the sensing dimension which has been suppressed in so many of us, look at the mind as a process that regulates the flow of energy within the brain and body as if functioning as an internal GPS guiding us down a neural super-highway. We’ll also talk a little bit about Positive Psychology, and the role of the newly discovered “mirror neurons” that give rise to empathy – and how healing this dimension is maybe the deciding factor in personal and community health and wellness. Bobbie is very upbeat and fun to listen to. Be ready for a stimulating and uplifting experience.

One United Roar asks: Why the Lion?
The third episode of One United Roar asks: Why the Lion? Preparing, informing and inspiring young people to stand up and be the voice of the lion, we paint a picture of what we are hoping to achieve through the exciting One United Roar Talent Challenge. We delve into some of the deeper wisdom of the White Lions as revealed by Linda Tucker during her two decades of deep research into the cultural and scientific significance of this iconic king of kings. We also look at how history views the lion, at the ancient mythology that describes the choices we humans have to make today in terms of the kind of leadership we want and in terms of the kind of people we want to be in our own lives. The lessons of the lions are far-reaching and deep, stretching back in time to the very beginning of life itself. The choice right now lies with the children of the world, the NOW generation: what would a world without lions mean to them and what are they prepared to do to prevent that?
