Mindfulness Meditation Made Simple- A Conversation with Charles A. Francis
Mindfulness Meditation has been practiced for many centuries. Dr. Miller introduced the technique to modern medical/psychological practice for the purpose of healing in 1971. Since then, many scientific studies have shown it to be remarkably effective in managing stress, relieving pain, healing trauma, etc.
Dr. Miller’s guest on this program is Charles A. Francis, student of Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh, who has written a book, Mindfulness Meditation Made Simple – Your Guide to Finding Inner Peace. In this conversation with Dr. Miller we will discover the real meaning of “mindfulness,” why it is helpful for meditation, and the 12 simple steps that can get you launched and begin to transform your life.
You will learn such things as the truth about suffering, why concentration is the anchor of the peaceful mind, and how to control your mind when it starts to race. We will also explore the power of meditating with others and how to make mindfulness a way of life. Don’t miss this enlightening and relaxing program.

Igniting Greatness: Howard Glasser
Over the years, Howard Glasser noticed that applying the principles and practices of the Nurtured Heart Approach to himself, a mode he knew to be most effective at bringing forth a child's greatness, had a surprising and powerful impact. Although he always considered himself a highly positive person, Howard had a realization that under pressure and under the stresses and gravity of life, he was actually self-critical and negative thinking. The Nurtured Heart Approach evolved into a personal practice that shifted him from random forms of negativity to an expansive focus on seeing and growing greatness, both within himself and through all his relationships. He found himself drawn powerfully into self-talk that went beyond any standard version of positivity. He found this to be transformative and life changing. From this, he developed a greatness practice that could be taught to others.
Howard Glasser, creator of the Nurtured Heart Approach, is a psychotherapist, author, and Chairman of the Board of the Children’s Success Foundation. He has authored multiple books about the approach, including Transforming the Difficult Child, which remains a top seller in the ADHD category more than a decade after its initial publication. Other titles include Notching Up the Nurtured Heart Approach: the New Inner Wealth Initiative (a leading book on school interventions) and All Children Flourishing (about using the NHA with all children, difficult or not. His most recent book is Igniting Greatness. www.ChildrensSuccessFoundation.com

Practicing A Course in Miracles
Description: Forgiveness is the core practice of A Course in Miracles, which offers us a program of healing the mind. Similar to other programs of healing, such as Alcoholics Anonymous, the Course requires that we first acknowledge that we have a problem. Yet this problem isn’t a behavioral one in form, but a perceptual one in our mind. Our mind is dreaming that it has separated itself from God, forgotten its nature as pure Spirit, and is now hallucinating itself as being a person in a world of time and space. For this problem, there is a solution, and it requires only that we open to the Guide and true Healer within, which the Course refers to as the Holy Spirit. It is this Guide that leads us Home to the Memory of God through the practice of true forgiveness and non-judgment. As we become willing to expose our fears, and lift up everything that has been hidden in our mind, we are led to greater depths of inner peace. Ultimately, forgiveness offers us everything we want, and is the means for awakening to the awareness of pure oneness, the state otherwise known as enlightenment.
This very practical talk was given by David Hoffmeister to a group of students in Minnesota in 2012.

Deeply Resolved New Year’s Resolutions with Heart & Soul
Sadly, making New Year’s Resolutions has become a superficial endeavor. Every year, millions of people resolve to “get in shape and lose weight.” Gym memberships spike for one month, and by February everyone is back to their same old patterns. Year after year this cycle repeats, and opportunities for personal growth, enlightenment and soul-filled resolutions are lost.
This workshop releases you from dysfunctional cycles and allows you to connect to your core being, heal, commit, grow and evolve as you truly wish to evolve.
We are multi-faceted beings of light and spirit and when we make decisions, we typically make them with the conscious portion of our brain based on what we think we should want or even what we think others expect us to want. In order for real, deep and abiding change to occur, it is essential that our minds, emotions and spirits all come into alignment with our resolution. Since the subconscious mind never lies, unless we ensure that our resolutions are made on both a conscious as well as a subconscious level, true change can never take place.
Learn how to make a resolution consciously as well as subconsciously, how to get your body and emotions prepared for change and how to check in with your Angels and guides to confirm your resolution is truly right for you.

The Gaea Star Crystal Radio Hour with Mariam Massaro

Friday Jan 13, 2017
Gaea Star Crystal Radio Hour #244 was recorded at Singing Brook Studios in Worthington Mass and features songs and imaginative improvisations from the Gaea Star Band with Mariam Massaro on vocals, native flute, acoustic guitar, baritone ukulele and dulcimer, Bob Sherwood on piano and Craig Harris on congas and balaphone. Today's first piece is the swirling, mystical "It's A May Nayo", replete with Craig's tribal balaphone and visionary vocals from Mariam. "Emerald Forest Sanctuary" mines a rich Arabic tonality as Mariam tells a compelling tale of the animals of the jungle. "Oh May Jayko" is the story of a wise man who lives in gratitude and harmony set to a gorgeous psychedelic rhythm and "Rays Of Light" is a pretty waltz by Mariam featuring her folky vocals and acoustic guitar. We return to a minor, trance-like vibe with "Rivers Running Pure", a bluesy diatribe against corporate exploitation with some driving piano work from Bob. "Winter Snow" drifts on a cloud of acoustic guitar from Mariam and icy, brittle winter scales from Bob and Craig on piano and balaphone and "Sharing In The Beauty" is a psychedelic folk tune led by Mariam's dulcimer and harmonica.
