Hospice: End-of-Life Love
Once again, Dr. Judy’s sister, Sally Morgan, PT, CST, renowned specialist in holistic physical therapy for pets, will guest host the Naturally Healthy Pets radio show this week. Sally is a pioneer in Craniosacral therapy for animals, an advanced Tellington TTouch practitioner, Reiki master, Vibrational healer, manual therapy expert and bestselling author of Dances of the Heart–Connecting With Animals and the accompanying Animal Connection cards. She travels to teach and lives in Massachusetts with her corgi Trystan. Visit her at www.SallyMorganPT.com, on Facebook at Sally Morgan PT CST, and on YouTube at Conversations With A Corgi.
This week, Sally welcomes Dr. Ella Bittel, a holistic veterinarian specializing in veterinary hospice care. Born in Germany, where she graduated from veterinary school in 1994, Dr. Ella worked in California for nearly 20 years, offering the holistic aspects of patient care, such as animal chiropractic, acupuncture, Chinese herbs, laser treatments, craniosacral work and more. An experience with her heart dog, Momo, led her to a passion on improving availability of hospice for animals. Similar as in human care, the goal is to allow an animal to live its life fully and die an unhastened, peaceful death supported by its family at home or in rarer cases when a patient’s comfort cannot be sufficiently maintained, euthanasia is chosen to end hospice care. Dr. Ella’s desire to help those in need resulted in her creation of the first ever online classes on Geriatric, Special-Needs and End-of-Life care for companion animals. Her conference presentations on this include the AVMA, AHVMA and each International Symposium on Veterinary Hospice Care held at UC Davis. In addition, her website, www.spiritsintransition.org, has provided a free, non-veterinary animal hospice helpline for more than a decade. There is a strong trend in modern societies to keep death and dying out of our awareness, leaving us unprepared for a natural conclusion to physical existence. This will be a learning experience for all as Sally and Dr. Ella enlighten us on hospice and natural end-of-life care for our beloved pets.

Why "Middle-Age"is really the Prime Time of a Woman's Life!
Juju Hook walked away from a 25-year career as a brand strategist to take on the biggest project of her life: re-branding middle age for women.
Her mission grew out of her branding work with female entrepreneurs. As she coached and led women through the process of identifying and articulating their unique talents and skills—and the competitive advantages that differentiated their businesses—she found that her middle-aged female clients were reluctant, or entirely unwilling, to own their rock-star abilities. While midlife women were the most powerful, competent, and experienced clients on Juju’s roster, ironically, they were the least confident.
As she struggled through her own midlife transition, Juju found herself restless, uninspired, unproductive, and way too involved in her teenage son’s life. A helicopter mom who’d settled on letting her own dreams die, Juju wasn’t just consulting middle-aged women who’d lost their mojo, she’d become one.
Over a two-year period, Juju set out to identify the root causes for this lack of confidence in midlife women and the inaction that invariably follows. In the process, she spoke with hundreds of middle-aged women—most of whom were either holding back on pursuing a life-long dream, or had given up on one entirely. She discovered that midlife women were all influenced by a set of pervasive and powerful—but entirely false—messages proliferated by the fashion, anti-aging, and technology industries. She calls these the “Six Lies that Bind.” Inspired by a quarter-century career in messaging, Juju realized that a re-brand was in order.
Additionally, she discovered that most middle age women struggle internally with the same three illogical equations, which she labeled “Mad Girl Math.”
In 2016, Juju released her first book, Hot Flashes, Carpools, and Dirty Martinis—The Quintessential Guide for Turning Midlife into PrimeTime. A funny and irreverent look at “how we got here,” the book provides step-by-step instruction for midlife women to absolutely thrive. Along the way, Juju made it her personal mission to recruit one million midlife women in the re-launch of a new PrimeTime brand, and to inspire self-love, confidence, and courageous action. Her system begins with challenging women to ask themselves a single, simple question that most stopped asking decades ago.
Juju worked for ten years as a marketing executive, owned a branding agency for 15, and now inspires midlife women around the world through coaching programs, her Positively PrimeTime online group, and live presentations and events. She lives in San Diego and in Yuma, AZ with her husband, Jan, their 16-year-old son, Christian, and Diego, the world’s hungriest Golden Retriever.

Gaea Star Crystal Radio Hour with Mariam Massaro

Gaea Star Crystal Radio Hour #328 is an hour of visionary acoustic improv and songs by Mariam Massaro and was taped live at Singing Brook Studio in Worthington, Massachusetts in October 2018. Featuring the Gaea Star Band with Mariam Massaro on vocals, native flute, celtic harp, acoustic guitar, ukulele and percussion, Bob Sherwood on piano and Craig Harris on congas and native drums, today’s show also features special guest recording artist Bri Elizabeth bringing her powerful voice and blues-based music to the mix. We begin with the mystical, evocative “Fall Beauty” which features compelling piano from Bob and lush melodies and lyrics from Mariam. “Ama Tonaiyay” follows, a driving, rocking piece driven by Mariam’s baritone ukulele and Craig’s powerful conga work. Next up are two original numbers from Bri, the impassioned blues of “Bob Dylan Song” and the lush blues waltz of “Drinking The Wine” accompanied by the band. Bri’s powerful voice shines, as do her impassioned, imagery-soaked lyrics. “When You Touch Me” is a fine song from Mariam from her “Smooth Sailin’ Love Songs” LP featuring fine backup work from Bri woven around Mariam’s beautiful lead vocal. “In The Land Of The Silver Lining” is a meditative, sparse, imaginative jazzy improv featuring compelling native flute and visionary lyrical improv from Mariam. “Twilight” and “Let’s All Sing Together” are gorgeous, understated ballad duets between Bob and Mariam that conclude today’s show in a meditative, peaceful, gently emotional space.

Into The Mystic part 3
We take our next step “Into the Mystic” - an online retreat that was offered in September 2018. This week David Hoffmeister reminds us that Jesus is calling us out of this world, into our mind, with the shared purpose of forgiveness. When we are facing our fears, nothing is going wrong - and we are not alone, for we have the Holy Spirit with us.
We dive deep into Lesson 47 of A Course in Miracles: “God is the strength in which I trust”, where we are assured that God is our safety in every circumstance. It is not by trusting ourselves that we will gain confidence, but the strength of God in us.
Over the coming weeks, we will showcase more of this wonderful event. Our online retreats are held on the first weekend of the month. Click here for more information about all events with David and Living Miracles: https://circle.livingmiraclescenter.org/events.

Radical Transformational Leadership: What does this imply? Guest Speaker: Jean Houston
Social Artistry and Radical Leadership for Whole Systems Transformation
We invite you to a discussion on whole systems transformation Jean Houston, Ph.D., a world-renowned scholar, philosopher, educator and a recognized pioneer of the Human Potential Movement. We will explore elements of a vision of a world in a state of positive transition. What is the new story for our time that embraces whole system transition? We must encourage inquiry of what it takes to shape a planetary civilization attuned to nature and elevate and deepen discourse and dialogue on global affairs. Deepening and strengthening the inner life and its interconnectedness to the whole will leads us to explore new forms of spirituality for a global era. Do we know how to deal with complexity and encourage the growth of an informed Global Civil Society?
What training programs do we need to design and deliver that prepare people for resilience, action and results? What is there in the unique givens of our evolutionary nature to inspire the emerging new story and the radical changes and challenges that go with it? We can discover ways of transcending and transforming the local self so that extraordinary life can arise. We will learn how to create the architecture of whole systems transformation. And so, we find that each one of us really can make a difference.
There is no question but that a larger life is latent in the human species and that we live only a small part of the life that is given. This means however that one agrees to relinquish those limited and limiting patterns of body, that is sensory and motor patterns, of emotions, of volition, of intelligence and understanding, and of spirit. that have been keeping us from becoming all that we can be. And allowing ourselves to instead become available to the extraordinary dimensions that each of us contains for much larger life in body, mind, and spirit. Leading to new ways of designing and implementing policies that shift the current destructive paradigm to one of a world that works for Earth and life on this planet.
We will discuss how we enhance human solidarity through honoring cultural and developmental differences; and discover the ways and means of the social artist AKA the radical transformational leader, who can help individuals, organizations and cultures move into the evolutionary agenda.

Join Dr. Judy this week as she welcomes Dr. Rosemarie Niznik DVM, CVA, CVSMT, a holistic veterinary colleague whose newly launched Harmony Rose Animal Wellness practice integrates Eastern veterinary medicine, including TCVM, acupuncture, chiropractic and palliative care to her patients in the comfort of their own homes. Her practice is located outside of Chicago in Lombard, Illinois, where she shares a 5 acre farm with her fiancé, Chip, their Bernese Mountain Dog, Grace, and two rescue cats, Wendy and Willa. After veterinary school graduation, Dr. Niznik worked as associate and small animal veterinarian in numerous day practices and emergency hospitals in the Northeastern States. Her interest in alternative and complementary treatments along with her own personal experience with acupuncture and chiropractic for a back injury led her to Holistic Veterinary Medicine. She enrolled in the Chi Institute for Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine (TCVM) where she received her Certification in Veterinary Acupuncture and continues her studies in herbal medicine, food therapy and Tui-na (a form of Chinese manipulative therapy). Want to know why Dr. Niznik decided to transition to an in-home practice and how it benefits both patients and pet parents? Then be sure to tune in to hear her discuss this with Dr. Judy as well as her interest and involvement in organized veterinary medicine and the Chicago VMA.
