“Beyond Perception: A Journey to True Awakening” 
David is excited to present a new classic movie ‘Poor Things', which has won many awards. The movie highlights the importance of unlearning the perceptual world and the five senses present with it. The world is a linear nightmare that has been accepted as real, and our attempts to establish an identity and make-believe body personality are not valid. Jesus teaches that we come without a self and make one as we go along, taking on roles such as mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, and parents.
The movie touches on many deep themes, such as suicide, death, memory, opportunity, autonomy, possession, ownership, control, jealousy, commitment, unlearning, discovering purpose, curiosity, independence, repression, pleasure, pain, hedonism, money, sex, poverty, abundance, philosophy, socialism, and forgiveness. With the Holy Spirit's help, we can empty our minds of false concepts, beliefs, and emotions, leading to a more fulfilling life.
David also discusses ACIM Lesson 153, "In my defenselessness, my safety lies," which emphasizes the importance of staying with Jesus in the Spirit and letting go of the falsity of the ego. David hopes this movie will help address these daily urges, desires, and distractions and bring the mind back to forgiveness. Hopefully, this movie will be the last one we ever need, as it touches something profound and essential inside.

Awakening from the Dream: Embracing Atonement and the Illusion of Time
The workbook lesson of the day, lesson 139, on accepting atonement for ourselves, is synchronized with this movie workshop about the end of choice.
Jesus taught about perception 2,000 years ago, emphasizing the importance of distorted perception. Our perception is distorted when our minds are asleep and when we dream of exile from God. This distorted perception leads to delusions, distortions, and fantasies, which are fiction and unreal. The defining characteristic of linear time and space is their unrealness.
The ego, a tricky puff of nothingness, makes up illusions and dreams, covering itself in the unconscious mind. This complex world of time and space is temporary, constantly shifting and changing. The first change experienced was the fall from grace, as there is no such thing as change in heaven. Jesus tells us that as we move toward the light in our spiritual awakening, we still experience fear associated with every change. This fear and terror often arise when we move towards the light beneath the darkness. Jesus emphasizes that we cannot judge our advances from our retreats; we must move toward the light.

Today’s movie talk invites us to dissolve past attachments and judgments, which is a common human experience marked by guilt, fear, and pain. For years, films have guided us toward enlightenment, emphasizing the importance of the present—the closest thing to eternity. Mystics and sages, like Ram Dass and Eckhart Tolle, urge us to live in the now, the gateway to eternity. Yet, staying present is challenging; our minds wander to the past or future, which are merely distractions from the now. Jesus taught that the past is over and the future is imagined, both defenses against the present. We must break free from this cycle, recognizing that the past is not our current reality. The journey is inward, to embrace and love the present moment.

Awakening to Spirit: Embracing Eternity Beyond the Ego’s Realm - with David Hoffmeister
The movie workshop addresses the authority problem, which refers to believing in a world separate from the Spirit. This belief can lead to death, sickness, suffering, and pain, as well as ego rebellion. Jesus' teachings emphasize that we are guilty in time but guiltless in eternity. 
The movie workshop also highlights the importance of understanding oneself in the environment in which we were created, namely the Spirit. The cosmos and world are the ego's playing field, with our schedule like a football game. Moving closer to pure nonjudgment makes us feel like our life is not ours.
We are birthed in God, and we value the images of time and space less. As we forgive, we grow deeper into forgiveness and burst into laughter, resulting from inner joy and innocence. This journey toward spiritual awakening can be long and challenging, but the reward is beyond everything we can imagine.

"The Illusion of Unconscious Guilt: Exploring Forgiveness and Redemption" 
In this movie workshop, David discusses the concept of unconscious guilt and fear, which are deeply ingrained in the mind. Deep desires in the subconscious mind allow the ego to create a world of illusions and false evidence. This unconscious guilt can lead to blame, condemnation, and fault. 
Jesus emphasizes the importance of forgiveness, acceptance of atonement, and the impossibility of the ego's belief in separation. Jesus warns us that the world is a battle of masks, and to find peace, one must come above the battleground. This perspective sees the mind as One that cannot attack itself; then, the entire projected world is a hallucination of the belief in the attack. You have to believe in an attack before you can perceive it. "If you spot it, you got it." This is a cute way to remember that you perceive it if you believe it.

The Dismantling of the ‘I Know Mind.’
In his recent talk, David delves into the concept of atonement, emphasizing the importance of correcting our thinking and belief systems. He explains how our actions reflect our thoughts and how aligning our thoughts with God leads to enlightenment. 
David uses the term 'I know mind' to describe the ego's belief that it has all the answers. He illustrates this concept using figures like Gandhi, Freud and Einstein, often seen as symbols of wisdom and knowledge.
Jesus draws from various schools of thought when dictating A Course in Miracles, especially from psychology and psychiatry, with many of these concepts being based on Freud's work. By using symbols and teachings from various schools of thought, we can better understand the atonement process and the role of the mind in our lives.

A Collaborative Adventure
In A Course in Miracles, Jesus teaches us that the ego is not real and that there are no fundamental differences between men and women. The ego makes up differences, but it is a death wish and not real. Jesus emphasizes that we must learn to distinguish between the Holy Spirit's right mind and the ego's wrong mind, which have different purposes.
The ego creates images that are both unreal and imaginary. They are all illusions, and there is no hierarchy of illusions, no hierarchy in terms of good, bad, sexy, beautiful, ugly, intelligent, or stupid. To make differences real in our awareness, we must dream and dream of things God knows not about.
We often forget our eternal identity and become distracted by idols, such as the body, which is created to replace and take over our Christ self. This profound amnesia can lead to a world where we seek certain characters, like Lego characters, to become our saviors.
Christianity has been criticized for holding onto the belief in Jesus as a personal Lord and Savior, even though he lived 2,000 years ago. Jesus tells us that all these images projected from the ego are effects of an unreal cause and that the real cause is Christ, an idea in God's mind.
In the spiritual realm, everything is light extending light, love extending love, and eternity extending eternity. There is no beginning or end to creation, nor is there in eternity.
To experience the depth of today's movie, we need to read A Course in Miracles' section called "The Hero of the Dream," which discusses the complex nature of dualistic concepts and the difficulty in relationships. Jesus teaches us that the body is the central figure in the dreaming of the world, acting as if it were a person to be seen and believed.

The movie 'Ruby Sparks' explores the need to release our interpretations of the distorted world of linear time, which is a result of the ego's trick of becoming accustomed to the world. The ego's illusions, known as Maya, are temporary and take the place of the light of eternity. Jesus is dismantling our linear perception of the world, requiring faith. The Bible and A Course in Miracles emphasize faith, as the prayer in our hearts takes us to God. Jesus teaches us that we are an idea in the mind of God and have not left our source. Mystics and saints have shown us that it is possible to live a life devoted to God and put our whole hearts into devotion. In the modern era, quantum physics emphasizes the connection between the material world and consciousness, emphasizing the importance of emptying our minds and focusing on the divine.
