David: I had just completed ten years of university, and then Jesus instructed me to delete my resume, and you know, I tried to throw all the papers away, but he said, No, go to your word processor and delete the memory of the resume, not just the paper. I want that resume out of your mind because I will teach you how to live in the given.
I will teach you that I'll provide everything you need if you just shine your light. Let me speak, laugh and smile through you and be happy. You don't have to learn and figure out what to do; that's the human problem. We have conflicting ideas from the past. Nobody agrees on anything. And then, we are supposed to make our life decisions based on our past learning. It doesn't work. You know, it's a trick. But if we make our way and let present trust lead the way, then what an adventure. Then you're on a real adventure.

You Are Entitled to The Holy Instant - The Opening Talk from “This Holy Instant” Online Retreat with David Hoffmeister & Frances Xu.
There's no learning in heaven. God created you perfect. The spirit doesn't learn. So when we think about the Holy Instant, the Holy Instant is not learned. So we're entering into a whole different realm than human beings have ever known because all humans have ever known is the past repeating itself day after day. The ego has programmed us, and you may believe you have free will in this world, but that's all a projection from the unconscious mind. So if you sometimes feel like a robot, like you're just doing the same things repeatedly, it's because the ego invented time and space.
You see, we are brought up with a curriculum in judgment. If you go to school, you're learning a curriculum in judgment; even before you go to school, your parents and your siblings teach you a curriculum in judgment. Don't do this. Treat people this way. You know, it's full of judgments, and then we reach a point where we would rather pray, listen and follow the Spirit than judge, react and respond to the ego. Do you see the difference between those two modalities in the mind? That's what we're going for today.

The Attainment of Consistent Happiness with David Hoffmeister and Frances Xu.
I was happy when I got to the part of A Course in Miracles where it says that the Holy Spirit needs happy learners to learn the final lessons of happiness. That told me that I need to get into the happiness if I want to see the world differently and allow the Holy Spirit to offer a replacement for the ego's world of guilt and judgment. He didn't say the Holy Spirit needs conflicted learners, he didn't say the Holy Spirit needs resistant learners, and he didn't say that the Holy Spirit needs reluctant learners. He said the Holy Spirit needs happy learners. If you're going to learn the final, happy lessons, wouldn't you have to be happy to experience the fullness of your gifts? I'm always excited to talk about the happy dream because that's our dream of non-judgment, and it always comes back to guidance. FOLLOW the guidance to get to the happiness. Yeah, that's our plan today.

Putting The Peace of God First with David Hoffmeister
David talk's about putting the Peace of God First and how to see the sameness of all hypotheticals and the nothingness of all form outcomes.
See the lesson of “Let All Things Be Exactly As They Are” along with the movie "No Men Beyond This Point” (Amazon Prime) to help you do so!
A hypothetical is simply something occurring as if it's real or as if it's happening. It could be described as anything that seems real but actually is not occurring. It's a perceptual hallucination. And looking at the Course, Jesus teaches us that your perception of linear time is simply a reflection in the mind as if the separation had occurred. If separation from God were real, then the perception of linear time would be the outcome. So, according to Jesus, linear time is a hypothetical, AS IF the separation has occurred.

Place the Future in the Hands of God with David Hoffmeister and Frances Xu
When you put your future in the hands of God and begin to live by inner guidance in the present moment, it can feel quite foolish at the beginning because our past conditioning is hammering harshly away at us. "What do you think you are? This is ridiculous, and you're throwing your whole life away for God, the great question mar ks the ego says.
The ego won't even admit that there is a God, and if it has to admit that there is a God, it's making it a punishing God. So when we 'Place the Future in the Hands of God', we need each other to reflect the miracles. We're mighty companions to one another. We're witnesses to one another's miracles and how God is helping us.
The Holy Spirit's presence is a burning, intense calling to wake us up, and we only have to join our little willingness to this burning, intense calling to wake up, and that will ignite the whole thing; that's what's sends the whole thing off into an actual experience.

Desiring God above All Else by David Hoffmeister

David: "Before I got into A Course in Miracles and before I got conscious on my spiritual journey, I was reading a quote from a poet named Edwin Markham, and it hit me so strongly, and I thought, wow, there's something to this that is deep. It said,
"There is a destiny that makes us brothers
None goes his way alone
All that we send into the lives of others
Comes back onto our own."
Wow, that's right. Everything I'm giving, I'm giving to myself. Everything I'm receiving, I'm receiving for everyone else. Because we're connected, we're the same. We are the same mind. We are an idea in the mind of God and we have the same creative abilities as Christ, because we are pure spirit."

How to Stop Listening to The Voice for Fear
Many have very dark experiences in childhood and during their teen years and early adulthood, where they have a lot of reflections and witnesses of guilt and shame, of blame, of criticism, and of all kinds of judgments. And for those of us who have come through that route, we know how stressful, fear, and guilt-ridden it can seem when that self-critical voice, that's just doubting you all the time, speaks to you.
For those of us on the spiritual journey, we know that our whole purpose is to transcend that voice of the ego and learn to tune in to the voice of the Spirit, the voice of intuition.
Jesus is an example for us of one who heard only one voice. So he told us in the bible, Be of good cheer. I have overcome the world. Meaning I have overcome the voice that made the world. I have overcome the ego. And I now know that light is all that there is and that our nature is love. The Kingdom of Heaven is real. It's so real that nothing real can be threatened, and nothing unreal exists. So this beautiful, intuitive voice teaches us and reminds us all the time that who we are is his light, his pure Spirit.

Let Go of Abandonment and Rejection
We have an opportunity today to cut through all the ego's objections.
It sounds ridiculous, but Jesus tells us that the secret of salvation is that you are doing it to yourself. So, on the one hand, we don't have anyone to blame, and on the other hand, we can accept the correction, release the ego, and be happy. It's that simple. Now, it may seem difficult in practice, but I assure you that it's much more challenging to maintain the ego and try to live according to the ego's belief system than to let it go.
A Course of Miracles teaches us how to trust in God and follow the guidance practically. It's teaching us how to let go of the ego, let go of attachments, let go of judgments, not because we're trying to be special, good, or right, but just because judgment is something God did not create. So we're giving ourselves a whammy. An opinion and judgment whammy, because when we try to judge, or we have opinions, we're trying to hold on to something that God didn't create and doesn't even know about. And that's not going to work if you want to be happy.

Holy Relationship - Why Do We Still Feel Fear and Separation?
When we think of Holy Relationship and what it means, the core of it is the Holy Instant and the Holy Relationship is the expression of the Holy Instant living in this world. The reason this is so important to remember is that you can't really keep the Holy Instant in your awareness unless you give it away. You have to be the giver of the Holy Instant in order to be aware of it, otherwise, it won't stay in awareness. By giving it away you keep it and you will experience a Holy Relationship everywhere at any time.

David: "I was thinking back through my 35 years of working with the course identifying which prayers I have prayed in my heart the most? And the first one, I think, is one you might relate to. It's called "Help." The simpler, the better, and the Holy Spirit is aware of that prayer for help. I think the second one, right behind "Help," is “Make it obvious." That's my second favorite. Considering we're in this fog of forgetfulness state of mind, which is a kind of sleep, I can't think of anything more helpful than just crying out for help when you need it or saying "make it obvious" because "make it obvious" is a prayer for guidance. Even if I can't hear your voice, You can still "make it obvious" to me in my nighttime dreams, "make it obvious" with signs and symbols, "make it obvious" with music on the radio, "make it obvious" with the birds and with people. If you keep following the signs and symbols, you will finally hear the voice speak through you openly and straightforward."
