Gaea Star Crystal Radio Hour with Mariam Massaro: #619
Friday May 16, 2025
Friday May 16, 2025
Gaea Star Crystal Radio Hour #619 is an hour of visionary, acoustic improvised music played by The Gaea Star Band with Mariam Massaro on vocals, Native flute, acoustic guitar, 4- and 8-string ukulele and harmonica, Bob Sherwood on piano and Craig Harris on congas and Native drum. Recorded live at Singing Brook Studio in early May of 2025, today’s show begins with the bittersweet, bucolic folk of “Welcome May”, a pretty, acoustic guitar-driven song before moving on to peaceful, meditative “As We Sail Along In The Beauty”, another acoustic guitar song with a lovely vocal from Mariam and imaginative piano cadences from Bob. “Remembering To Dream Your Life Into Existence” grows from a plaintive Native flute fanfare into a lovely, stately theme, Mariam’s beautiful Native flute and affecting vocal floating over Craig’s fundamental Native drum heartbeat. “Circle In The Sky” is a skipping blues workout with rocking harmonica from Mariam over Bob’s Ray Charles-esque blues aerobics. “Gather Together” from Mariam’s “Release” LP is reimagined as an energized waltz and “Restore”, also from the same album is reworked into a driving minor rock piece with driving congas, imaginative piano and a fine vocal from Mariam. “Circle Of Light”, also from the “Release” album is given an infusion of live energy as Mariam’s chiming 8-string ukulele creates a mood of lightness and celebration and “Home” completes today’s show with a flourish, fine vocals, dancing piano and chiming 8-string ukulele.

Valerie Montgomery: Undoing Generational Silence
On this new season of the Make Mental Health Matter Show with host Kelli Melissa Reinhardt, is live in-studio with special guest Valerie Montgomery.
Little bit about Valerie’s story from her:
My father would not let us use the word “depressed” while I was growing up. Turns out, his mother, my grandmother, completed suicide shortly after I had my third baby. It had seemed so normal for her to be “miserable,” which my parents would couch as dramatic. I understand the family culture around mental illness from the inside, as a child and then a young adult.
Short bio: Valerie Montgomery is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Colorado. As the middle child of two public school teachers, she became a military spouse which brought her to Colorado. Shortly after her youngest was 15 she realized her lifelong dream of going to Counseling school. She now operates her women-owned counseling business marketing to women, but working with adults who experienced less-than-nurturing parenting during their childhoods.

Your Life... On Purpose: Simran
With what our world currently experiences, and the human potential that exists, it is necessary for a deepened presence and focus toward soul-inspired, purposeful living. A marriage must occur between ‘who we are out in the world’ and ‘who we are deep within our Being’. Only when ego begins to serve the soul can the world shift. Let us deepen into exploration, meditation, and expansion.
Interesting segments for exploration, a powerful prayer and a deep meditation...

The End of the Belief in Ego and Linear Time
Description: Movie Commentary by David Hoffmeister and Marina Colombo
This movie commentary for Needle in a Timestack, hosted by David and Marina, is the first of four movies that challenge the belief in the ego, and overcomes the belief in linear time. This week's movie offers a mind-expanding experience that questions the concepts of linear time and the ego's hostility towards the world. It teaches us that time is not linear, and that Love is universal. It’s content and not form of any kind.
Enjoyed listening to David’s undoing of the ego commentary and am interested in listening to the entire talk. Here is the link:
