Recorded live on a sultry July day in 2025 at Singing Brook Studio in Worthington, Massachusetts. Today’s show begins with the appropriately summery “Double Winged Dragonfly”, a sun-soaked summer dusk song with an appealingly languid, drifting structure. “Celebrate Diversity” is a development of our first piece with a gorgeous Native flute coda and a fine, inspiring lyric from Mariam and “Bring It All Back” is a light, skipping folk song led by Mariam’s rustic mandolin and bluesy piano from Bob. “Queens Of The Forest” is a lush, languid, mysterious ballad with gorgeous vocals and slowly unfurling, drifting piano and “Let’s Embrace Our Grace” is a beautifully developed piece with a fine vocal, driving congas and a graceful power. “Circle Of Light”, originally recorded for Mariam’s “Gaea Star Crystal” album is stretched and repurposed into a sprightly, minimalist modern gospel song. We complete today’s hour with “A Bevy Of Goddesses”, a summer forest tale told by Mariam in conversation with her soaring Native flute, fundamental Native drum and emotional, R&B-inflected piano from Bob.

Recorded live at the end of June 2025 at Singing Brook Studio in Worthington, Massachusetts, today’s summery session begins with the reverent, impressionistic “Orange Rays”, an affecting, powerful raga featuring a dynamic chord setup and fine vocals and Native flute passages. “Summer Nights” is a dancing gospel-folk reel driven by Mariam’s chiming 8-string ukulele “Oscar”, dynamic congas from Craig and Bob’s minimalist, assertive piano. “We Are Spirits United” is a sprawling, trance-like minor folk song with a gorgeous, languid vocal from Mariam and “Crystalline Temples” is a fantastical journey through the many crystals of the Earth, a powerful lecture from Mariam in the form of a beautiful, solemn song with heartbeat Native drum and driving piano and ukulele rhythm. “We Know” is today’s dulcimer summer song, a steadily building run through the forest that turns into a joyful, abandoned sprint liberally decorated with kinetic, powerful Native flute work from Mariam. “Shamiyaya” from the “Release” LP is presented in a driving, virtuoso pop performance with a fine vocal and tight ukulele chords and we close today’s show with the earthy blues of “Transform”, a rock-R&B workout with rocking vocals and barrelhouse piano.

Recorded live on a hot June day in 2025 at Singing Brook Studio in Worthington, Massachusetts, today’s show begins with the upbeat, shimmering “May The Floodgates of Love Open Wide”, a breathless, energized song driven by Mariam’s chiming dulcimer, imaginative piano and throbbing congas. “All Life Unfolds” is a powerful, mysterious drone song with an ancient British Isles vibe, Mariam’s fundamental message supported by heartbeat Native drum, imaginative piano and tight, racing dulcimer work. “One More Day” is a powerful raga version of the track from Mariam’s “Release” album that features powerful vocals and soaring Native flute lines interspersed over wide-ranging classical piano figurations. “Going Down To The River” is a hallucinogenic summer ballad featuring a fine melody and imaginative, intense work from the ensemble and “Amaru Machay” is a powerful, spiritual song by Mariam about an ancient Andean cave rendered in a funky Afro-Cuban frame. “Painty The Turtle” is another relaxed, summery narrative about a little turtle and her babies at Singing Brook Farm and “Reborn”, a favorite Mariam song of the band’s is a rocking, acoustic-guitar driven requiem with powerful lyrics. “Salamini” is a mystical, delicate ballad with a gorgeous vocal from Mariam and liquid, shimmering piano and “Summer Solstice” is a gently percolating, bluesy summer dream that showcases the ensemble’s laid-back side. Today’s show was recorded live at Singing Brook Studio in Worthington, Massachusetts in June of 2025 and begins with the stately, solemn “Wake Up To All That You See”. Mariam’s powerful vocal and lyrical Native flute, Craig’s heartbeat drum and Bob’s imaginative, restless piano make this track compelling and varied. “Make The Best Of Where You Are” is a jazzy, dynamic song with a fine rock vocal from Mariam and “Finish What You Started” is a beautiful, mysterious ballad led by Mariam’s bittersweet Gypsy acoustic guitar work. Mariam strums her shimmering 8-string ukulele for the pretty, delicate “Sail Into The Realms Of Pure Love”, a gorgeous, 50’s-inflected song with a gorgeous vocal and luxurious floating clouds of piano. “Dance Along The River Of Life” is a spacious, unhurried ballad built on Bob’s Eastern European harmonic scheme and featuring a fine vocal-and-flute conversation from Mariam. “Ryalia” is a finely composed, clever piece made evocative with Mariam’s defining, ringing mandolin and fine vocal and “Open Every Day” is an energized blues with racing congas and fiery piano from Bob that gradually coalesces into a stately, inspired gospel ballad. Recorded live at Singing Brook Studio in Worthington Massachusetts in May 2025, today’s show begins with the grooving rainy spring celebration “For The Cool Down”, a rocking workout driven by Craig and Bob on Native drums and tabla supporting Mariam’s evocative lyric and fine, energized native flute. Bob moves to the piano to lay down a simple funk left hand as Mariam steps into the space with ever-more assertive flute passages. Pretty, open piano and bluesy harmonica introduce the lovely “I Am That I Am”, a gorgeous ballad underpinned by Mariam’s droning shruti box and “Wind Whistling Through The Window” is a peaceful study of a drifting day with a lovely vocal from Mariam over a fine backdrop of piano, congas and ukulele. “Day Lilies Rising High” is another spring celebration, this team featuring rolling, bluesy piano from Bob and a lovely tale of magic realism from Mariam. “I Am Healed by the Peaceful Morning” is a drifting, psychedelic dream with an insistent gospel motif from Bob underpinning a lovely lyric of praise from Mariam.
