Healing With Love: A Conversation with Leonard Laskow MD
Can your thought, your images, and your beliefs directly affect individual cells and produce healing change? And how does this happen?
Today’s guest, one of the prime movers of the holistic and self-healing revolution has studied this in the laboratory and says “Absolutely yes!” On this episode you will hear how this Stanford-trained Life Fellow of the College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, former chief of OB-GYN at Carmel Community Hospital woke up to his life calling – To Heal With Love – in the 1970s.
He will share with us his experiments in university laboratories with biophysicists and Neurochemists, and how the growth of cancer cells and of pathogenic bacteria can be inhibited right there on the petri dish through the power of thought, spirit, and setting intention. You will learn of how he has changed the lives of thousands through visualization, the laying on of hands, and the guiding of the body into coherence.
You will learn about his book, aptly entitled Healing With Love, and his more recent work and upcoming book on self-forgiveness, unconditional love, and awakening to our essential nature.
Finally, you will experience guided imagery to awaken your inner experience of love and guide it towards the healing of mind and body.

Empowered Caregiving - Thriving, Not Just Surviving: A Conversation with Cindy Laverty
Athletes need coaches because the job they do requires concentrated attention, hard work, and wise attention to their mental and physical balance. So do stage performers and top executives.
Caregivers need coaches too – yet few get the kind of support they need. No wonder 20% of caregivers are clinically depressed, 16% become ill, and all are at greater risk for cognitive decline, loss of short term memory, 23% more stress hormones, 15% decline in antibody function, etc.
Cindy Laverty suddenly found herself falling down a rabbit hole as she had to quit her job and let go of her lifestyle to care for a chronically ill relative. She realized what a need there was, and when her care-giving challenge ended she set out to help others by developing an effective way to help others in a similar situation – and she wrote an easy-to-read book, Caregiving – Eldercare Made Clear & Simple.
In this conversation we will examine the hidden challenges of caregiving, and how caregiving can be a gift leading to happiness, greater self-knowledge, and personal transformation. You will learn how most caregivers end up with guilt driving the bus, and how to go from overwhelm to enlightenment by following a few simple steps, confronting reality, and having a clear care plan.

Smile For Hope - An Arab Woman's Compassionate Initiative : A Conversation with Zeina Abdo
On my recent journey to Dubai, I had the fortune of coming across a truly beautiful, inspiring – even electrifying woman. When I discovered Zeina Abdo had been the first Arab woman to reach the summit of Imja Tse Island Peak 20305ft (4 miles) high in an effort to raise funds for pediatric cancer patients in Nepal, I knew I wanted to have a conversation and learn more about her.
One of the most difficult lessons was that people find it hard to see the truth – they spend most of their time making themselves unhappy and making others unhappy – but blame it on the world. The truth is that we do have the power to change our world, to take care of those who are needy, to find personal happiness. It is a happy day in your life, indeed, and to find our personal mission.
In spite of the abuse and the pain in her own life, Zeina saw there was a greater need – and out of nowhere, decided to create a special program for the truly poor. In this conversation I ask what it is that empowers her to do what she does in spite of the risks and resistances. I think you will find that she is one of those who is fully in the process of awakening to her potential and that she can serve as an inspiration to us all.

Your Food, Cancer, and How to Confront This Inflammation Nation - A Conversation with Sunil Pai, MD
Dr. Pai’s message states says that although what you eat may not cause cancer, what you eat can determine whether or not your body will support the growth of cancer. How you handle stress has a direct effect on your body’s healing response. By eating a non-inflammatory diet, you can heal many illnesses and sustain your health through. Dr. Sunil Pai is an unusual man.
Sunil Pai, M.D., is a physician, a Medical Doctor, Board Certified in Holistic Integrative Medicine. He did a residency in Family Medicine, is a fellow of the Program in Integrative Medicine at the University of Arizona (Class 2002) directed by Dr. Andrew Weil, has been certified by Dr. Deepak Chopra as a Primordial Sound Meditation Instructor and a Creating Health (Ayurveda Lifestyle) Instructor. That’s in addition to his being certified in Functional Medicine, Physiological Regulating Medicine, Medical Acupuncture and Scalp Acupuncture through Stanford University School of Medicine.
And he says we now have experimental proof and a biological understanding of why sustaining your health through a non-inflammatory diet is important. His new book, Inflammation Nation, is fully annotated with valid scientific studies that support his claims. For instance, the studies on tumor cells growing in the laboratory that showed that when they were exposed to casein, the chief protein molecule in milk, the cells grew ten times faster, and when it is removed, the tumors gradually slow their growth.
In this show we will focus on the process of inflammation, how it can help us, and how it can harm us. Inflammation is at the base of illnesses from colitis, to heart disease, from arthritis to pink eye. You will learn how choosing the right foods can balance the inflammatory reactions in your body, and why it makes good sense to choose anti-inflammatory supplements.

Its Time For Slow Medicine - A Conversation with Michael Finkelstein MD
Michael Finkelstein, MD, FACP, ABIHM, aka The Slow Medicine Doctor, has been featured in top media outlets including The New York Times, CNN, and ABC News. Following his medical training he studied with integrative medicine pioneer Andrew Weil, MD.
Today we will explore the value of Slow Medicine, the holistic way of approaching human health that treats the whole person – body, mind, emotions, and spirit. Dr Finkelstein shows how widely accepted this approach is becoming – in fact, he is the Medical Director of several major hospitals and health institutes, including two Integrative Medicine hospital departments/programs that he founded.
Drawing from this diverse medical expertise, Dr. Finkelstein offers both a micro and macro point of view on today’s healthcare needs and challenges, and he provides a tried-and-true solution for healing individual patients and the medical
system as a whole: Slow Medicine.
You will learn what Slow Medicine is, and how healing takes place when we live from the heart with passion and purpose. Everything is inter-dependent—muscles
and nerves, bodies and minds, people and planet – and each connecting thread has a domino effect on the other. To achieve and sustain optimal health, we need perspective that goes beyond the obvious symptoms. We need to become aware of each area of our lives and explore how to optimize our wellness, not only within each of these areas – through nutrient-dense foods, a loving partner, artistic expression, and so on – but also through their harmonious integration.
The best “quick fix” for your health, it turns out, is not a quick fix at all; rather, it is Slow Medicine – a methodical, step-by-step process of asking questions that lead to awareness that turns into action that results in optimal health.

The Ecstasy of forming a True Community: Our Evolutionary Past and Potential - A Conversation with Evolution Biologist Elisabet Sahtouris PhD
If we’ve made it through high school, we have learned about the concept of evolution and the notion of “the survival of the fittest.” Today’s guest tells us that this is part of the story, but by no means the whole story! There is a competitive phase to the story of evolution, but evolution biologists like today’s guest, my old friend and mentor, Elisabet Sahtouris, tell us that there is a later phase, the phase of cooperation.
In today’s fascinating conversation you will meet and explore, a brilliant woman who, early on, asked herself, “who are we, and where are we headed?” Through her studies in science she discovered that what she calls, “the maturation cycle” — how all living communities and ecosystems evolve from the competitive to the cooperative stage. She shares with us why humanity is now at exactly that maturation point.
You will learn how the most advanced levels of science now are reflecting to us the same wisdom that has been present in Christian teachings, the Vedic teachings, and the Islamic teachings, among others. Don’t miss this incredible show and it’s unifying guidance towards a paradigm shift and the ecstasy of forming true community.
About Elisabet Sahtouris, M.S., Ph.D
Dr. Sahtouris is an evolution biologist, futurist, professor, speaker, author and sustainability consultant to businesses, government agencies and other organizations. Dr. Sahtouris currently holds the Elisabet Sahtouris Chair in Living Economies at the World Business Academy, based in Santa Barbara, California. Dr. Sahtouris participated in two invitational dialogues with HH the Dalai Lama in Dharamsala, India and in the Vatican, Rome.

The Magic and the Neurobiology of Belief - A Conversation with Bruce Lipton PhD
A single cell, like an amoeba, is like a little person. It breathes, eats, expels waste, moves towards the good things and away from bad things. And it has a brain: its cell membrane which communicates with the environment.
Each of us is like a huge community made up of several trillion little amoebas, all working together in harmony (hopefully) toward a common goal – our health and happiness. It is by recognizing the power of our subconscious mind and using our conscious mind wisely that we sustain this health and success.
Just as the simple little amoebas have gotten together to evolve a single organism (us), the human beings living on this planet have formed a single, individual, “superorganism,” and, according to one of Dr. Lipton’s latest books, we are ripe for this spontaneous evolution of the next level of global human wisdom – something quite necessary if we want to prevent the rapidly approaching sixth mass extinction.
Choosing his fascinating metaphors, Dr. Lipton introduces us to a new way of understanding human behavior, our belief systems, and how we can create a new foundation for future growth. Important things are happening under the radar. We are experiencing the emergence of a new global consciousness.
Finally, we touch on the role of telomeres, those mysterious molecules at the end of our chromosome strands whose disappearance brings about aging and death. Fortunately, there are ways we can produce more telomeres, including the five remarkably simple ones Dr. Lipton offers you.

Be All You Can Be - A Conversation with Jim Channon
Jim Channon was a Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Army. Most notably he is remembered for creating the First Earth Battalion manual. Post Vietnam 1978 was a time when military morale and enrollment were at an all time low. During this period the U.S. Army needed to drastically shift approaches and prepare to defeat a vastly larger Soviet force in Europe. Army leaders called upon officers to develop needed creative approaches to dealing with this challenge. They were encouraged to fully explore the Army’s “Be All That You Can Be philosophy”.
Many of the ideas contained in this and the outcomes of putting such concepts into practice have been documented by journalist Jon Ronson in his book The Men Who Stare at Goats, and now the new movie of the same name, staring George Clooney, Ewan McGregor, Jeff Bridges, and Kevin Spacey.

Locally Reliant Living for Challenging Times: A Conversation with Janaia Donaldson
Janaia Donaldson is the host and producer of “Peak Moment Conversations: Locally Reliant Living for Challenging Times.” This online bi-weekly internet television series highlights constructive responses to climate chaos, resource decline, and economic hard times through local community action. Peak Moment TV has nearly 200 programs online, which are also cablecast on about two dozen community-access TV stations nationwide.
Concerned for the effects of peak oil and climate change, in 2006 Janaia and videographer partner Robin Mallgren sought models among grassroots entrepreneurs working to create a sustainable future. In summer 2006 they climbed into their Vanagon camper, visited over 20 West Coast communities, and taped more than 90 Peak Moment Conversations. The shows include tours of backyard gardens, natural buildings, and eco-villages. Janaia also discusses timely topics with thinkers like David Korten on “The Great Turning”, Richard Heinberg on “Peak Everything,” and Carolyn Baker on “Navigating the Coming Chaos.”
Listen to the Conversation Here: In fall 2010, Janaia and Robin traveled to the Pacific Northwest between Oregon and Vancouver Island in their mobile studio. They taped more than 80 shows with people creating community gardens, tool sharing libraries.
