Fifteenth Episode: At present, Kris Bryant is Chief Revenue Officer at Rhodian Group, a managed services provider (MSP). Thirty-plus years ago, we were colleagues at The Travelers Insurance Company. Since life is, after all, one big circle, our paths recently crossed again when she and Rhodian Group became a client of my company, O’Brien Communications Group. Kris has spent most of those 30-plus years managing revenue for large technology firms. The Renaissance Man: Joseph Carrabis
Fourteenth Episode:  Joseph Carrabis started telling stories in childhood and sold his first short story in 1978. He's worked as a long-haul trucker, an apprentice butcher, a lumberjack, a Cold Regions researcher, a Chief Data Scientist, a Chief Research Scientist, a Chief Neuroscience Officer, a Neuromarketer-in-Residence, and a Chief Research Officer. He’s lectured at colleges and universities and sat on the Advisory Boards of The Center for Multicultural Science and The Journal of Cultural Marketing Strategy. He was a Senior Research Fellow at the Society for New Communications Research; an Annenberg Fellow at the University of Southern California's Center for the Digital Future; Director of Predictive Analytics, Center for Adaptive Solutions; and was a member of the NYAS/UN's Scientists Without Borders program. He held patents covering mathematics, anthropology, neuroscience, and linguistics, and during the late 1980s and early 1990s he was an internationally best-selling trade technical author. Williams is an accomplished executive who’s made a career of aligning Human Resources with business goals to boost performance, profitability, growth, and employee engagement. He spent 23 years with Merrill Lynch and is now a Qualified Arbitrator with FINRA Dispute Resolution Services, listening to both sides of securities-related disputes, weighing the facts, and rendering final and binding decisions. He’s earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management from the University of Phoenix, a Master’s Degree in Human Resources Development from Villanova, and is working on a Doctorate in Philosophy, Human Resource Management, from Northcentral University. An unabashed man of faith, Phil describes himself as a designated survivor of a life-threatening skin disorder. He’s also one of the most soft-spoken and unassumingly wise people I know. Eleventh Episode: You know that different drummer we hear so much about? That’s the one to whom Andrea “Andee” Scarantino marches. In February of 2018, Andee quit drinking and smoking. In October of 2018, she ran her first marathon. Then she quit the hospitality industry in which she’d worked for more than 10 years and started a coaching/consulting practice, concentrating on mindfulness. She celebrates her family and friends while cherishing and protecting her solitude. She practices self-faith while remaining humbly mindful of areas of opportunity. Nineth Episode: The Reluctant Writer: Tammy Hader
The Reluctant Writer: Tammy Hader is a writer so modest she says she’s not a writer. She earned a BBA in accounting from Wichita State University, passed her CPA exam, and worked for 30 years as an accountant. Then the Muse called her to follow a path beyond spreadsheets. She heeded the call and started writing. She used her past in a small Midwestern town — influenced by family, friend, relationships, choices, consequences, and situations — to try to understand her disillusionment with the present. Combining that effort with her desire to regain her sense of benevolence, she wrote and published a memoir, Walking Old Roads. I read it. That’s how I know Tammy’s a writer of the first order. Today, Empowered Together's marketplace helps folks discover, connect with, and recommend accessible businesses. Sarah has a history of successfully building ventures, from leading PharmaSecure, a HealthTech company in India, through its Series A funding to being the first Executive Director of the Arch Grants startup competition in St. Louis. Her gift for facilitating community and corporate groups gets people to look at things in a different way, curiously engaging with their world.
