Gaea Star Crystal Radio Hour with Mariam Massaro
Gaea Star Crystal Radio Hour #410 is an hour of visionary improvised acoustic music featuring The Gaea Star Band with Mariam Massaro on vocals, native flute, acoustic guitar and ukulele, Robin Rooney on vocals, djimbe, percussion and celtic harp, Bob Sherwood on piano and Craig Harris on congas and native drums. Recorded at Singing Brook Studio in Worthington Massachusetts on a warm August day, today’s show begins with the uplifting, lilting “Serenade My Day”, a pretty summer song driven by Mariam’s silvery 8-string ukulele. “Take Me Home” is a lush, lazy folk song featuring pretty gospel piano from Bob and “Thank You For Loving Me” is a bittersweet farewell presented as a relaxed ballad with chiming acoustic guitar from Mariam and fine vocals from Mariam and Robin. “Let’s Heal A Nation Divided” is a powerful prayer for unification with impassioned native flute from Mariam and “For The Fire” is a minor ballad with a classical feel and a wall of driving drums from Craig and Robin. “Return To The Golden Orb” is a mystical faerie song from Mariam, a fairytale lifted by imaginative, evocative piano from Bob and “Sing Down The Walls” is a tight, energized take on Mariam’s “Gaea Star Crystal: Awakening The Tribes Of Light” CD classic. “The Crystal Realm” finishes today’s show with a drifting, filmic continuation of the “Return To The Golden Orb” story.
