She practiced nursing for 20 years, during which time she received an MA in Counseling psychology from Pepperdine University in 1976. She graduated from California Acupuncture College in 1983 and received her doctorate in Oriental Medicine in 1986. She has practiced as an integrative form of acupuncture and Chinese Medicine since the 80s. This includes lifestyle counseling, energy medicine, and shamanic healing. She is also a speaker on various health topics, such as integrative medicine, acupuncture and Chinese Medicine, and Covid-19.
