BIO: Joseph E. Scherger, M.D., M.P.H. is founder and Medical Director of Restore Health - Disease Reversal. He is also a core faculty member with the Eisenhower Health Family Medicine Residency Program. Dr. Scherger is Clinical Professor of Family Medicine at USC, UC Riverside and Loma Linda, author of   Lean and Fit: A   Doctor's Journey To Healthy Nutrition and Greater Wellness (Third Edition, 2019 ) a graduate of the UCLA School of Medicine and received his training in Family Medicine and education in Public Health at the University of Washington.
Dr. Scherger practiced traditional medicine and taught in Davis and San Diego, California before coming to the California desert in 2009 to lead primary care and medical education at Eisenhower Health and has received numerous awards, including being recognized as a "TopDoc" in San Diego for 6 consecutive years. In 1989, Dr. Joseph Scherger was recognized as National family Doctor of the Year.
In 2011 Dr. Scherger began to study and practice Functional Medicine and has achieved great success in reducing body weight and restoring health without medications. He offers Primary Care service to a limited number of individuals on a concierge basis. Paula Lenz Talks About Driving Into Infinity
Paula Lenz shares with us the tragedy that befell her family in October of 1983, which is more than forty years ago now, when her younger brother, Donnie, who was then only twenty-six years old, was driving to work one morning and he collided with the engine of a train. The result for Paula was her lovely book which she wrote three decades later, called Driving Into Infinity – Living With My Brother’s Spirit. Paula is unsparing in talking about her long grief, and the ways that it has affected her whole life. Her brother has remained a central and active part of her life, and instead of being a downer, Paula’s book is light and powerful and beautiful. This is her third Seek Reality appearance.
