Becoming Aware: How to Repattern Your Brain and Revitalize Your Life
Lisa Garr comes from a long line of entertainers, including her aunt, actress Teri Garr and her grandmother, Phyllis Garr, an original Radio City Music Hall Rockette.
In 1999, Lisa suffered a brain injury during a California State Championship Mountain bike race, where she was in second place, about to take over first. She fell down a long mountain to the bottom, cracking her helmet in 13 places. Lisa experienced a near death experience while lying on the side of the mountain until the helicopter medics arrived to transport her to the nearest hospital.
This experience transformed her level of consciousness and was the catalyst for starting her media platform about awareness that now reaches millions of people per month worldwide. Lisa rebuilt her brain and her life using specific visualization techniques and accessing different levels of conscious awareness she calls Brain-nastics.
As a leading media personality, Lisa Garr has conducted over 3300 interviews of the world's foremost experts in all areas of health, nutrition, spirituality, personal transformation, neuroscience, mindfulness, wealth creation, business development, longevity, and conscious cultural activism.
I came back from my accident realizing how important the brain is in our
personal development, especially when you combine cutting-edge brain transforming techniques with spiritual lessons. My purpose is to inspire growth and change.Lisa Garr
In "Becoming Aware: How to Repattern Your Brain and Revitalize Your Life" Lisa Garr tells the story of how she immersed herself in the ordeal of recovery.
THE HEALING PROCESS:
Lisa realized that she had damaged the part of her brain responsible for language. She started to rebuild her brain using a cutting edge type of EEG technology that sends signals to the damaged areas of her brain, trying to get them to respond to positive images. She came to understand deeply that there is a real scientific basis to the fact that our thoughts create our own reality and that it is possible to heal from within. Lisa also came to recognize that healing is an ongoing process and that it is necessary and beneficial to get a tune-up that freshens and revives one's awareness and commitment to one's own healing process. Drawing upon the wisdom and personal experiences she went through, she skillfully takes the mystery out of the many lessons to be learned from her experience. She describes how to use your will to create what you want on multiple levels and harness energy and use your own maximum wattage to get where you want to go in life, even when life forces you to go through several U turns. She explains how to get back on track even when the road beneath you seems to have crumbled. Lisa offers important and helpful guidance designed to bring lasting, transformative and soul-searching change, in ways that stir the soul. http://theawareshow.com/

“When Endings are Necessary for Healing”
How do you know when endings are necessary, especially if they appear to be painful? In this extremely helpful show, we will discuss: how endings are woven into the fabric of life itself; how necessary endings are real and relevant and bring profound results; how “stuck” can feel normal and how you can challenge yourself to move forward; how reality checks are important (especially when you keep believing it will get better). There is a difference between what needs “fixing” and what needs ending. Join Dr. Cynthia in this powerful show to discover how endings might be necessary for healing.

The Gaea Star Crystal Show

Saturday Oct 10, 2015
Gaea Star Crystal Radio Hour #184 was taped on September 14 2015 on a summery evening at Singing Brook Studio and features Mariam Massaro on vocals, twelve string acoustic guitar, kalimba, native flute and ukelele, Dameron Midgett on mandolin, banjo, crystal bowls and didjeridoo, Robert Sherwood on piano and engineering and Craig Harris playing marimba and congas. Mariam’s “Sharhi Rabe, Blue Lotus Queen”, a raga in D, begins today’s show in a mystical, drifting space inhabited by Mariam’s twelve string and then by degrees a driving jam powered by low piano figures against impassioned congas and electronically-treated banjo from Dameron. “Holding Onto Your Dreams” follows, an inspiring song from Mariam that boasts a minor key folk arrangement and a hopeful, emphatic lyric. “Mateo Gabriel” is a particularly special song from Mariam, celebrating the birth of Paris Shortridge and Pedro Fernandez’ first son, a birth midwifed by Mariam. “Watching The Sea Sunset” is a beautiful and mysterious creation built on a harmonic sequence that evokes the rolling sea with a series of unusual, disquieting chords from Mariam’s uke and Bob’s piano. After the break we return with Mariam’s pretty, aching “Star Traveler” a piece that rolls along on a carpet of ukelele and mandolin. Bob’s piano slowly rises up through the mix with a bittersweet two-note ostinato that floats in an electronic haze beneath Mariam’s beautiful refrain. A stately, gospel-like final theme supports a lovely, conversational duet between Dameron’s grounded didjeridoo and Mariam’s floating native flute. Today’s final song “Beautiful” returns to acoustic folk simplicity and sports driving banjo from Dameron and a pretty, elemental melody from Mariam.

Empowered Caregiving - Thriving, Not Just Surviving: A Conversation with Cindy Laverty
Athletes need coaches because the job they do requires concentrated attention, hard work, and wise attention to their mental and physical balance. So do stage performers and top executives.
Caregivers need coaches too – yet few get the kind of support they need. No wonder 20% of caregivers are clinically depressed, 16% become ill, and all are at greater risk for cognitive decline, loss of short term memory, 23% more stress hormones, 15% decline in antibody function, etc.
Cindy Laverty suddenly found herself falling down a rabbit hole as she had to quit her job and let go of her lifestyle to care for a chronically ill relative. She realized what a need there was, and when her care-giving challenge ended she set out to help others by developing an effective way to help others in a similar situation – and she wrote an easy-to-read book, Caregiving – Eldercare Made Clear & Simple.
In this conversation we will examine the hidden challenges of caregiving, and how caregiving can be a gift leading to happiness, greater self-knowledge, and personal transformation. You will learn how most caregivers end up with guilt driving the bus, and how to go from overwhelm to enlightenment by following a few simple steps, confronting reality, and having a clear care plan
