Sensitive Show on Sexual Abuse and Violence
Sexual abuse and violence crosses all race, gender and socioeconomic lines. Statistically, one in five women will experience sexual violence, and considering that it is the most unreported crimes, those numbers are probably higher.
While FLAUNT! is about living a wonderful, beautiful, happy life and, for the most part, is lighthearted and fun, life sometimes hands us serious things that cannot simply be glossed over. We can't simply pull ourselves out of depression, physical or mental illness, rape, assault or death of a loved one by choosing to get over it. Sometimes, that which we experience IS too much to handle. Sometimes we need professional help, sometimes we just need time.
As hard as we try to "get over" something, sometimes life spirals out of control and our methods of coping don't work. People around us don't understand what we are going through and the system doesn't work the way we want it to. As is often the case with sexual assault or sexual violence of any kind, the resulting PTSD can be devastating to survivors as well as to friends and family.
While more and more awareness is currently being brought to rape culture and the truth about sexual abuse and violence, as a world, we still have a long way to go.
In this week's show Parker shares her story as a sexual assault survivor. In candid, raw and vulnerable terms she shares all facets of her journey, from nearly failing out of school, to heavy drug use, to taking on the role of abuser, to a series of choices, actions and reactions that, absent her sexual assault, would not have been her own. She shares the impact her assault had on her family, friends as well as how it's colored her life. As a survivor, she has flourished, and she continues to grow, heal and impact the world for good, but this has been no easy journey.
Whether you have experienced sexual assault or violence directly, or have been impacted by it through someone you love, this show will touch your heart and will educate you about one of the most prevalent issues we face today.

Gaea Star Crystal Radio Hour with Mariam Massaro
Saturday Apr 08, 2017
Saturday Apr 08, 2017
Gaea Star Crystal Radio Hour #256 was taped live at Singing Brook Studio in Worthington, Massachusetts and features evocative, visionary improvisations and songs from the Gaea Star Band- Mariam Massaro on vocals, native flute, baritone ukulele, acoustic guitar, Craig Harris on congas and balaphone and Bob Sherwood on piano. Today’s first piece is Mariam’s galloping “Ponies Running Free” a dream of ponies set free from a rolling train corral to run through the fields and hills. Driven by fierce congas from Craig and Mariam’s racing ukulele, the piece sets us free into a dream vista painted with lightning piano runs and a breathless narrative. “Tambakiya” is a slower, more mystical dream of a black panther laying on a puffy cloud. Abstract and floating, “Tambakiya” lulls like a gentle eastern wind presaging a distant storm. “Just Like That” flows seamlessly out of Mariam’s concluding flute lines and invites us to focus on creating change from within. This gently epic song moves to lush, repetitive piano figures and clever stop-and-start congas from Craig, supporting a particularly lovely vocal and lyric from Mariam. A gently melancholic key change from Bob sets the stage for a gorgeous flute solo in Mariam’s most generous key, the harmonic minor, the sound of Mediterranean Europe. An epic chorus brings the piece to its climax and gently deflates into a elegiac, gospel coda with exquisite vocal touches from Mariam. “We See Right Through You” visits blues, jazz and latin as Mariam exposes the hypocrisy of the would-be destroyers of our environment, inviting them to confront the simple truth of the Earth. “Shamai Kayheyo” visits the same harmonic and rhythmic territory of “Tambakiya”, a lush, pentatonic mode that evokes the islands of Japan and plays to Mariam’s sparse, haiku-like meditation on hummingbirds.

Love, Medicine, Miracles And Bernie Siegel: A Conversation With Bernie Siegel
Our guest for this episode is Dr. Bernard Siegel—or Bernie, as he prefers to be called. Our conversation will center on the healing potential in human beings, how the mainstream medical system fails to recognize or to utilize it, and how what Bernie calls the “Unconscious Mind” already knows the future. This is a fascinating and illuminating exploration with one of the true pioneers of Mind-Body Medicine.
Especially interesting is the way Bernie uses the drawings of patients to help with diagnosis, understand how the person is experiencing his illness, and help activate the healing power. As a physician who has cared for and counseled innumerable people whose mortality has been threatened by illness, Bernie embraces a philosophy of living and dying that stands at the forefront of the medical ethics and spiritual issues our society is grappling with today.
Bernie sees his patients as his teachers, and shares many of the things he has learned from them. As a storyteller, Bernie is unequaled, and through the dozens of stories he tells here you will get a real sense of how each of us can activate our healing potential and an understanding of why, with a lifetime’s wisdom and experience, he trusts in miracles more than ever. Listen and enjoy this thoroughly engrossing show!

Have you ever asked yourself what is your life purpose? Have you considered what you are doing here and whether you are on the right track to being fulfilled?
These are the questions that world-renowned Human Design experts Chetan Parkyn and Carola Eastwood empower readers to answer in the The Book of Destinies: Discover the Life You Were Born to Live (New World Library, December 15, 2016).
A companion book to Chetan’s first book, Human Design, The Book of Destinies offers readers the opportunity to use the place, date, and time of their births to reveal their specific Life Theme, which offers a portrait of their true nature and reveals the underlying storyline of their lives.
“The purpose of this book is to help you get clarity your own unique path so you can attune to your destiny and learn to live creatively through all the challenges life brings, finding fulfillment in knowing you are living in accordance with your truth,” they write. “The Book of Destinies has been created to help you discover the life you were born to live.”
The culmination of Chetan and Carola’s twenty years of Human Design research, practice, and readings, The Book of Destinies is for anyone who has ever stopped to ponder the deeper meaning of their existence. Contemplate it. Meditate over it until you have imbibed it deeply and let it settle in you as a constant reminder of the theme for your whole lifetime. You are not here by chance. There are no mistakes in the themes for this Universe. Let your Life Theme be a guide for you.”

Awakening to True Happiness with David Hoffmeister

The Happy Dream
We try and find happiness in relationships, jobs, and money, but all the while it seems just out of reach. So we continue to plan, hoping to find what we are looking for. But even our plans conflict because there always seem to be more options. The ego loves to plan, to keep us moving and second-guessing ourselves. It would always have us believe that we would be happy if only something were different than how it is now. And so we go along thinking that the next place, or the next job, or the next relationship will make us happy, believing there is something more than this moment.
Through A Course in Miracles, Jesus is offering us the means to stop following the ego’s plan and to begin following the Spirit’s instead. The "Happy Dream" is an experience in which we are fully trusting in the Divine, convinced that everything is taken care of through the following of intuitive guidance.
In this episode of Awakening to True Happiness, David shares parables of his own listening and following guidance, as he was unwound from the world’s way of thinking. He shares how he gained trust by listening to and following the Holy Spirit over and over, until he found himself abiding within a constant state of happiness and love.
This recording of David Hoffmeister took place on February 11, 2016 during the Happy Dream Retreat in Los Angeles.
