Powder
This week we will be watching the movie Powder. This is a tremendous opportunity for us to learn from the experiences that the main character called Jeremy goes through, and also from the relationship of Lindsay and Jeremy, because it's, by any standard very unconventional, and there's a lot of opinions from those around, Lindsay and Jeremy, that they're feeling this genuine deep heart to heart connection of innocence and of deep love, and then the world, of course, is reacting to the appearances. This is what we're dealing with in our perceptions of time and space, we're dealing with the ego's judgments and comparisons, we're dealing with the ego's belief in competition, and, juxtaposing people and characters and things in this world, as if it's an external problem when really Jesus is telling us it's, just a misperception of the world. We have the bullies that that seem to bully Jeremy, and we have, the adults that are judging the relationship, the connection that Lindsey and Jeremy have. Ultimately, I think this movie goes all the way like it hits the grand slam home run. In the end, what but union with God and being lifted up to God, or carried back to God will ever satisfy us will ever bring us the joy and the happiness that eternal, love that we were created in.

Frozen
Welcome, everyone. Glad you can join in. Very excited about our movie for today, because we have an animated movie that's a classic Walt Disney movie. The movie has come through prayer, so we can talk about the themes of unworthiness and hiding my light. This movie is really going to help us get underneath that belief in unworthiness, that is a heavy feeling that kind of helpless feeling of not being enough or not being good enough that generates so much guilt. And really, unworthiness is just a form of guilt, and we want to lift that up to the light and be free of it. Sometimes I say that to forget God, and make up a substitute reality of time and space is the deepest form of amnesia, that we know it's amnesia forgetting the light of the kingdom of heaven, and making up a cover, or a veil to take the place in awareness of that light.

Pay it Forward
Oh my goodness we have such a healing movie. Today, I can just feel as the talk goes on your heart is just going to crack, wide open. And we know how wonderful that feels when your heart is open, and you feel the love just pouring through you and radiating to the whole world. The movie is called “Pay it Forward.” This movie is so profound and helpful for all of us because everyone who has come to time and space has come to, we can say, a dark planet. It is a place where death and disease and sickness, and war, seem to exist. And these things actually are the farthest thing from the truth, but to believe you exist on a planet with such things, is the height of this insanity. You can forget about dysfunctional families. This is this a dysfunctional planet. We, at times, tried to cover over or deny the darkness and tried to pursue distractions and things that will keep our mind off this darkness. Mary Baker Eddy used an interesting word for this world. She called it mesmerism it’s like hypnotism, it's like, dark hypnotism.
We're here today to have the Spirit lead us through a clinic on escaping darkness, lead us on an experiential journey of opening our heart up and learning to give the love away that we have, we have so much love in our heart, but as long as we hide it, as long as we cover it as long as we feel uncomfortable with the love or even distract away from the love, then we can't know the only thing that can ever be known, which is the love of God.

Jesus
Hi everyone. Welcome. You are in for a treat today, with our movie for today is, Jesus of Nazareth. Some of you may be familiar with this Franco Zeffirelli Jesus movie. It’s basically about six and a half hours long so we made a mini movie to show today for you of 2 hours.
The demonstration that Jesus was the symbol that Jesus is for our mind that warms our heart that draws us deeper into a remembrance of who we all are as the Christ, the perfect creation of an amazing, wonderful loving God.
The themes that we will look at in this movie are coming in, being a clear channel for Spirit, wanting peace of mind as my only goal and I don't need to belong to the world. That's a good one. So, this is a beautiful opportunity for us to really go deep into our own hearts, and experience Jesus's love and guidance, his, instructions for us to unwind from the ego belief system, to go through a dismantling of the image, the persona, the self concept that we have believed in is real, and let that be rinsed away washed away, it's like the, the self concept is like as a stain in the split mind. And that's why the mind seems to be split is because it believes in something that God didn't create. So, actually, when your life in the world starts to fall apart. You know, take heart, do not be sad, do not lament the world do not lament the self concept that the ego made, because it's not happy. It's a very fearful guilt ridden painful self concept, and we want it washed away. Jesus of course is like a great symbol of a Wayshower coming to us as an answer to a prayer of our heart to be happy to know true freedom to know joy. Jesus is the answer to that prayer in our heart. And that's where there's tremendous gratitude for that answer.

I think this is going to be such an experience today that I feel by the end of the talk, you're not gonna think of yourself in the same way, but this is kind of like a rotor rooter we're just gonna expose and vacuum a lot of ego beliefs that are so tightly protected and so, buried in the unconscious mind and so kept hidden that you may notice yourself reacting to some of the scenes and to some of the words and things that are used in this movie. The movie is going to be giving us a glimpse at some events that took place five years ago but, I think they're very relevant for us, for our forgiveness and coming to peace of mind. So one of our themes today is people-pleasing. People-pleasing is actually a defense mechanism that was made up by the ego, to keep you from knowing who you are. And yet the ego made up the whole world and all the people. So that's the identity or the self-concept, this false self-concept that God didn't create would be accepted as a replacement for the true nature of the Christ of a pure spirit of pure love. So, this people-pleasing is an addiction. It is an obsession. It is the defense against the truth. There's absolutely nothing helpful about it, it's part of the death wish. And whenever you're people-pleasing all it's doing is it's reinforcing your identity as a body, it's a body identification, a defense mechanism that is so accepted that when you start to look at the extent of it with mom and dad and brothers and sisters and children with coworkers with bosses, with everything in this world of time and space. Even with pets like the bodies of the pets are a part of the self-concept, everything that's perceived as part of the self-concept. Even the stars. The galaxies are part of the self-concept, the trees, the mountains, the oceans, the rivers. Everything perceived as part of a denial of the truth. It's as Jesus says in the workbook that the world was made as an attack upon God, a place where God can enter not. So we're going to look at the full extent of that Miss identity because the core of that is a body identification. And then on top of the body identification, there's a gender identification, being identified with as a man or a woman, being identified with masculine traits or feminine traits and characteristics, then it just goes on from there, projecting the world, and the environment and everything is tied into the self-concept. So I happen to think this is one of the best movies you will ever see that will help you unwind from people-pleasing, I mean this is like a scale of one to 10 This is an 11. This is so good for getting at, people-pleasing. Enjoy

I AM

The movie that we have today is called “I AM” and is going to really help us as we really explore within our own mind, in our own consciousness this journey toward the light to go deeper and deeper inside. Today's movie is to help give you the inspiration to give your life in a very devoted way over to God. And what I like about this movie is the main character, who will be making the documentary, and includes himself in the documentary, he became very successful in the world's terms, and he was an excellent student. He, excelled in sports, he excelled in all the things that are available to a youngster growing up in the eastern East Coast United States, and then became a very very successful movie maker, and director. I would say that was one of his greatest skills he has is that of a storyteller. We know in all the great traditions the Native American traditions and traditions all over the world, that storytelling is a very important part of passing on wisdom and passing on lessons to everyone in the tribe, whether it seems to be a smaller tribe or a larger tribe or a global tribe. I'm speaking of a man named Tom Shadyac, and he's Christian man, a very bright man who made movies I think his first hit, was with Jim Carrey called Ace Ventura.
So many times you hear children say I love singing, or I loved playing basketball in the backyard or I enjoy these different aspects of my life. And then at some point, the make a living question comes in. In other words, you're supposed to succeed. That's the point is to not barely survive but to succeed, to have material success. And that's very much a part of the programming here on earth. I don't think really if you look at the teachings of Buddha or the teachings of Jesus or Ramana Maharshi, you'd ever hear Ramana going now go out and make a good living and be the best that you can be in the world or Jesus never seem to be encouraging people to succeed in terms of the world. You know I am calling you out of the world. That doesn't sound like an encouragement to succeed in the world. The ego has a great investment in you not experiencing your I Am nature, your spirit, nature, it has a huge investment in fact it made up all of time and space. It made up this world with one purpose in mind to keep you from remembering who you are as a perfect child of God. So the entire system of time and space, and its successes is designed to completely keep you distracted and searching in the wrong direction. So Jesus says “seek not outside yourself for it will fail and you will weep each time an idol falls”

Embracing the Present Moment
Well today we have a very profound topic, embracing the presence. It doesn't matter what spiritual tradition or religion you come from, whether you are a course in miracles practitioner or not. All of the perennial wisdom, and all of the saints and mystics and teachers, emphasize the present moment. The mystery is in entering into it because the mind has conditioned itself through an ego belief system. It has invented its own version of the present moment, which is not the present moment. The ego doesn't know what the present moment is so it has to make and invent because it doesn't understand divine love. It makes up romance and sex to substitute for divine love. It makes up electricity to substitute for the divine nature essence of spirit, it makes up words to take the place of divine communion with your Creator, which is pure stillness, it's pure telepathic communications there are no words involved, between Christ and the Creator God. So today we're going to explore the topic of embracing the present moment. Another way of saying that would be discovering the present moment. You can't embrace something unless you discover it. As a human being you look around your surroundings right now, and you look at your environment. You look at the body, and you look at the television or computer screen. you look at your partner, your furniture. The walls that surround you. The ego would say this is where you are presently. You are presently engaged in a Zoom conference call. It's not really true. This is part of the trick. The ego has convinced the mind that it knows what the present is. It says the present is what the images look like right now. The only thing is the ego doesn't even know what is right now. So, actually, the present moment is not this image-making. Right now, we have to go deeper. Much much deeper to find the actual present moment. In the mind, that's asleep there's a belief system generated by the ego and it's all based on past learning. So, when you look around at your environment right now and you see a computer screen or something, some images in the Zoom Room, that is a projection of past learning that has absolutely nothing to do with the present moment. Even when teachers like Eckhart Tolle ask you to just look around and be aware of everything in your environment. Be aware of your breathing. Be aware of the temperature. Be aware of the sights and sounds and smells. That's just the very very beginning of starting to quiet your mind to sink down beneath all ego thoughts and sink deeply enough to find the present moment. To find the light. Because the present moment is synonymous with light.

So today we're going to watch a movie about a man who was a Catholic priest. He's a good example of putting God first. He's a Catholic priest who passed away a few years ago in October of, 2018, he lived to be 95. His name is Thomas Keating, he came through Catholicism, and he sought God with his heart. And when he sought God he became a friend to the Dalai Lama, he became a friend to many different religions, he still wore his Catholic priest's outfit but he had a smile on his face he had twinkly eyes, he didn't see that God involved competition or that there needed to be competition between religions. He didn't believe in, whose religion is the right one. He didn't believe in it it's almost like asking whose theology is the right one. It's all about peace it's all about happiness. It's not about getting caught up in the who believes the best thing. And that's where you start to see he outgrew traditional religion, he grew into a spiritual connection with God, and harmony and happiness. He could talk to people that seem to have different beliefs than him and it didn't matter. He would have a friendly conversation with them. He would have humor. He would have joy. And this is just an example of what happens if you put devotion to God above all else. What that means is you're putting happiness above all else, you're putting joy, peace of mind, harmony, above all else. Your relationship with your brothers and sisters is your relationship with God. So, the more harmonious you are with everyone that you perceive or even everyone you think of that is your reflection of your relationship with God, to know God is to know supreme happiness to know God is to know a sense of love and inclusiveness of harmony.

The Great Awakening
Our weekend retreat is called the Great Awakening and I will give a context otherwise it can seem disorienting, it can seem bewildering. It can even seem fearful at times, without an overall context. I know that it doesn't matter what stage, you are in in the rising up to accept yourself as Christ at one with God, it can be overwhelming at the beginning, it can be overwhelming in the middle and even as you start to merge with the light. Again, this is extremely overwhelming to the ego, because this is the end of the ego merging with the light accepting yourself and your I Am Presence before time was. I wanted to talk a little bit about the word called function like sometimes people say what is my function. And the context is important in terms of function Because if you've been following the teachings we've been sharing for many years we are saying that function, ultimately is not really dependent on the form and really it's not even associated with the form. And that can seem very strange or weird. Well, let's put it into context in heaven, which is reality, which is spirit, which is eternal love, which is oneness. Our God-given function is the creation of God. I said Jesus says you are guiltless in eternity, but not in time. So, you can take from that in heaven we're purely innocent as spirit, and that's not the case in time and space where you seem to be lost in space you get guilt, you get fear, shame and all kinds of emotions that don't have any reality, they don't have, and that was never created by God. They don't even exist, but they seem very real in time and space. Our God-given function, our function that is given us in our creation is creating. That's our function, creating. And that is, in spirits, spirit creates spirit creates spirit.

Forgiveness is the Key to Happiness
Forgiveness is the key to happiness. To think about a key is for the purpose of unlocking something right? That's why we use the key or use the key to unlock something. That must be unlocking happiness. And all of us want to be happy, is for sure all of us want to be happy. It's just that the ego is kind of a tricky inner teacher that's trying to teach us that our happiness comes from pursuing external goals or pursuing something in the world and somehow we achieve or accomplish the goal or task or pursuit in the world that will make us happy. But Jesus is saying no, its actually forgiveness is the key to happiness. The state of mind, that is forgiveness is the key to happiness. If you are forgiving It teaches forgiveness. When you are happy there's, no need to forgive and be unhappy, you will discover. This will give you the experience of sublime, happiness, a very tranquil happiness, serene happiness. And it's consistent happiness. It's actually constant because there is no opposite to this forgiving world this is the purpose this is the point of entry. So we could say that forgiveness and the Forgiving world is the answer to any conceivable problem. Any upset, discouragement, any trial that you have, any difficulty, anything. It's just good to know that there's really just one answer to all the millions and billions and trillions and zillions of seeming problems that there's only one answer and that is forgiveness.
