The Meaning Of Life.
The Meaning Of Life… If people want to learn more about what that means then this show if for them. Living our life with LOVE. Who else but the author of Love, Medicine and Miracles, is an expert in giving advice on living with love. This is a ‘don't miss’ radio show for people who want to learn to empower themselves to create their best life now!
MEANING OF LIFE BY BERNIE SIEGEL, MD
Life of itself has no meaning. It is simply a mechanical event. It presents us with the opportunity and physical ability to be creative and connect with our Lord and the process of creation and create a meaningful life. If we were provided with a perfect world there would be no place for creation or meaning. It would simply be a magic trick. The meaning comes from how we use our minds and bodies and whether we contribute to or become destructive to the process of creation. When we have the opportunity to choose from what is placed before us; life and death, good and evil meaning arises. The meaning our life takes on relates to choosing life and who or what we see as our Lord. Our Lord can be material things and selfish choices based upon our desires and feelings or it can be a chance to love the world, and our neighbors, when we have the right Lord.
Choosing life means we choose life-enhancing behavior for all living things, through our actions and behavior. Then our lives take on meaning. We symbolically represent the same opportunities and elements as a satellite dish, a remote control and a TV screen. A satellite dish has access to many channels and programs and with our remote control we can select which channel we tune into and watch the program displayed.
The problem is there are many Lords out there for us to choose from like all the channels available to you and your remote control. In our case our mind is like the remote and chooses what it tunes into and what it is exposed to and learns from about life and meaning. Then our body, like the TV screen, displays which Lord and programs we have been watching and learning from and thus our life and activities take on meaning.
If our Lord is the Lord of revenge, due to a life experience of indifference, rejection and abuse, and not love then the meaning of our life will be totally destructive as all the headlines reveal. But when you realize we are all here to contribute love to the world, in a way we select, and not one imposed upon us, then our life takes on meaning and becomes joyful experience no matter what profession or lifestyle you choose.
Thus the meaning of life is to give each human being the opportunity to live a genuine and authentic life dedicated and devoted to life enhancing behavior. When we submit to what others impose upon us we lose our life and its meaning. When we abandon our untrue selves and tune into the Lord of love channel every action we take is real, meaningful, lifesaving and life enhancing for all living things of every species residing on this planet we all call home.
So the meaning of life is to give us the opportunity to make our Lord and Creator happy.

Quantum Think - The New Paradigm for Successful Living: A Conversation with Dianne Collins
Just as we are witnessing a revolution in technology, society itself is also undergoing a far more profound collective transformation. This transformation is nothing less than the evolution of consciousness itself, our own minds and awareness.
Even though the wisdom that has been passed to us through the ages, as well as that from cutting-edge science is well known to us, we do not actually live our lives according to it. The result is the unstable world we live in, our dysfunctional government and social system, climate change, income inequality, corporate dysfunction, poverty, illness, and great sadness, to name a few of the symptoms.
What Dr. Miller calls “the New Paradigm” involves shifting our perspective and the principles by which we live our lives so as to recognize the systemic nature of the world and develop balance, wholeness, healing, and wise guidance. Dianne Collins has written a new book, Do You QuantumThink?, which presents the principles of the New Paradigm in a very easy to understand way – in a form that makes it easy for you to incorporate them into your life.
In this conversation you will learn some of the 21 principles Dianne has developed. You will see how we need to shift from the model of Universe as Machine to one of Universe as Mind, how the world is energy in flux created by consciousness, and how what we hold in our mind becomes reality. Intent is the dynamic of creation, and by embodying the wisdom we know in our minds we can make that quantum leap in consciousness.

The Biology of Belief- How to Overcome our Negative Programming and Heal Deeply - A Conversation with Dr. Bruce Lipton
Dr. Bruce Lipton is an internationally recognized leader in bridging science and spirit. He has been a guest speaker on hundreds of TV and radio shows, as well as keynote presenter for national and international conferences.
Dr. Lipton began his scientific career as a cell biologist. He received his Ph.D. Degree from the University of Virginia at Charlottesville before joining the Department of Anatomy at the University of Wisconsin’s School of Medicine in 1973. Dr. Lipton’s research on muscular dystrophy, studies employing cloned human stem cells, focused upon the molecular mechanisms controlling cell behavior.
His research at Stanford University’s School of Medicine, between 1987 and 1992, revealed that the environment, operating though the membrane, controlled the behavior and physiology of the cell, turning genes on and off. His discoveries, which ran counter to the established scientific view that life is controlled by the genes, presaged one of today’s most important fields of study, the science of epigenetics.
Dr. Lipton has taken his award-winning medical school lectures to the public and is currently a sought after keynote speaker and workshop presenter. He lectures to conventional and complementary medical professionals and lay audiences about leading-edge science and how it dovetails with mind-body medicine and spiritual principles.

Heal Your Mind, Rewire Your Brain - A Conversation with Pat Lind-Kyle
Patt Lind-Kyle, author of Heal Your Mind, Rewire Your Brain, she’ll be talking about neuroplasticity, the ability for the brain to create new connections and even grow new cells. We will also explore the various brain states we can enter, and what these different states can enable us to do. The fact is that you can teach your old brain new tricks!
We will discuss how to apply this new science in practical ways, to re-pattern our behavior, and counteract what the Buddha called “suffering” and modern psychologist call “stress.” Ms. Lind-Kyle is a therapist with a broad range of interests. She has taught in the academic world, practiced as a management consultant in the business community and has had her own private therapy practice. Her research and interest in the mind/brain field led her to develop a learning style assessment company to help children and parents understand how they learn. She has been involved in the teaching and application of personality styles to individuals and organizations for the past 15 years. She has applied the styles research to learning/teaching methods, career guidance, relationship and communication skills.
Ms. Lind-Kyle’s current interest is working with the new tools of neuro-monitoring to help individuals become more effective with their brain/mind potential. She has completed an 18-month research project learning how individuals shift their mental, emotional and spiritual view of themselves and the world to function in a larger, more comprehensive view of reality.
Ms. Lind-Kyle’s consulting focus includes executive coaching, Brain-Mind development for high performance, stress management, optimal health and how women can lead and manage more effectively.
As a professor of Community Health and Dental Hygiene, she taught for 15 years at the University of Hawaii, Foothill College, San Jose State University, and University of California at San Francisco. Her academic preparation has been a BS at University of Southern California in Biology and an MA at California Institute of Integral Studies in Psychology.
Ms. Lind-Kyle’s interest is in the research and development of inner development and optimal performance. One such focus was an in-depth research program with women leaders. She interviewed over 40 women leaders on the West Coast to find what happens to women working in a man’s environment. She has focused her study on how the male work place has affected women leaders feminine qualities, their health, their professional outlook and their concerns as spouses and companions. Her book that describes this work and her own story as a professional woman is entitled, When Sleeping Beauty Wakes Up: A Woman’s Tale of Healing the Immune System and Awakening the Feminine (Swan/Raven & Co., 1992).
Ms. Lind-Kyle’s recent research has focused on the Brain-Mind Development Programs for Lind & Kyle. Patt is currently working on a new book titled: Meditate the Way the Brain Works – The Mind’s Most Powerful Resource.

We Are All Connected: Premonition, Extrasensory Perception and Distance Healing - The Latest Scientific Findings - A Conversation with Larry Dossey MD
Visionaries and pioneers, Larry and Barbara Dossey courageously champion innovative, holistic medical paradigms that empower individuals. Barbara Dossey, PhD, RN, HNC, FAAN and Larry Dossey, MD, are recipients of numerous awards including the 2004 Pioneer of Integrative Medicine Award and the 2003 Archon Award. While based on hard science, their books and lectures affirm the inseparable unity of body, mind and spirit.
This distinguished Texas physician, deeply rooted in the scientific world, has become an internationally influential advocate of the role of the mind in health and the role of spirituality in healthcare. Bringing the experience of a practicing internist and the soul of a poet to the discourse, Dr. Larry Dossey offers panoramic insight into the nature and the future of medicine.
Upon graduating with honors from the University of Texas at Austin, Dr. Dossey worked as a pharmacist while earning his M.D. degree from Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, 1967. Before completing his residency in internal medicine, he served as a battalion surgeon in Vietnam, where he was decorated for valor. Dr. Dossey helped establish the Dallas Diagnostic Association, the largest group of internal medicine practitioners in that city, and was Chief of Staff of Medical City Dallas Hospital in 1982.
An education steeped in traditional Western medicine did not prepare Dr. Dossey for patients who were blessed with “miracle cures,” remissions that clinical medicine could not explain. “Almost all physicians possess a lavish list of strange happenings unexplainable by normal science,” says Dr. Dossey. “A tally of these events would demonstrate, I am convinced, that medical science not only has not had the last word, it has hardly had the first word on how the world works, especially when the mind is involved.”

The Inner Game of Stress - A Conversation with Edd Hanzelik, MD
Although people talk about stress all the time, most do little more than complain about it. In our conversation with Edd Hanzelik, MD, Author of The Inner Game of Stress, we will explore a very neat, powerful and easy to use technique to deal with stressful situations.
Dr. Hanzelik, who trained in Internal Medicine at Boston’s distinguished Beth Israel Hospital, was a classmate of Dr. Miller at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the 1960s. Edd was always extremely interested in the inner life of his patients and the relationship of that inner life to the progress of their physical disease. He became aware of the central role stress played, and the result of his studies and his experiences helping patients heal is one of the foci of this discussion. The other is a tool he calls STOP – an acronym for Step back, Think, Organize, Proceed. You will quickly see how you can apply it in your own life.
Edd is a warm and understanding healer as well as a highly skilled practitioner of Western medical science. Listen, and hear what a truly caring physician sounds like

Childbirth and Midwifery with a Heart- A Conversation with Alison Osborn & Daymora Taylor
Midwifery is literally “as old as the hills”. With the movement towards delivering babies hospitals that occurred in the last century, midwives became rare. There has been a recent upsurge in the use of midwives, and not only because hospitals are becoming repositories of infection with “flesh eating bacteria” that are immune to antibiotic treatment (e.g., MRSA – Methicillin-Resistant Staph Aureus). Many couples are coming to the conclusion that having their baby at home, in familiar surroundings, with loved ones nearby, is a much more natural and wholesome procedure.
In nearly every human culture and society in the world, up until rather recently, it was women who were responsible for helping women give birth. Only in our culture, only in the last century or two, did we decide that childbirth should take place in the hospital where every other kind of physical trauma is treated.
Between the time my first son was born and now there has been an enormous movement away from having hospital births supervised by a physician, instead having them take place at home with the assistance of a midwife. Why burden the birthing process with an association with disease and illness, and why risk being that close to deadly infectious agents.
This episode features two guests, a mother and daughter who both happen to be midwives, and as you will learn, one has practiced for 40 years, and the other was present at her first birth at the age of 1 year! Alison Osborn and Daymora Taylor let us in on some of the history of midwifery, what it is, how this surge in popularity has happened, and their personal experience of attending births.

The Power of the Spirit to Heal and Empower Peak Performance : A Conversation with Bhava Ram
We can rise from the ashes of the worst losses and illnesses, heal ourselves, and create high level wellness and peak performance. No one exemplifies this potential better than former war correspondent Brad Willis, our guest on this edition of Conversations with Extraordinary People.
In the 1960s, when Brad Willis was a teenager, he found himself to be feeling disgusted, resentful, and angry at the war in Vietnam, the racism in our culture, and the urban decay around his southern California home. Then, by a complete fluke of fate, he found himself interviewing for a job with a television station in a small town in Northern California, which soon led to his becoming a war correspondent, and the head of the Asian News Bureau for NBC – and the winner of the broadcasters equivalent of the Pulitzer Prize.
He suffered a crippling, inoperable injury to his low back, was declared totally disabled, lost his job, his wife and son, gained 50 pounds and became a bed-bound prescription narcotics addict and alcoholic. And to top it all off, his exposure to depleted uranium in the Gulf War gave rise to an inoperable cancer. Given two years to live, he became a bed-bound, depressed, resentful grouch.
It was then that he encountered a new approach to healing at Scripps Institute, where he was introduced to holistic medicine, eastern thought, and one of my self–healing tapes. From Healing Journey, he learned a mantra. By continuing his inner work guided by this and the plaintive words of his young son, “Get up, daddy,” he was led through a remarkable experience of healing, the elimination of his cancer, and his regaining not only the ability to walk again, but the ability to become a yoga teacher and author of several books. There’s no one I can think of better equipped to describe the process of Peak Performance and Deep Healing. Don’t miss this show – the story of his life is a classic.

What is High-Quality Homeopathy? - A Conversation With Roger Morrison MD, Co-founder of America's Original Homeopathic College
Trailblazer Roger Morrison was very disappointed with the way he saw patients being treated in his work as an emergency room physician – and with the sloppiness of American medicine in general. He became inspired, and left his job as an emergency room physician, and studied Greek so that he could study with and later apprentice to the world expert on homeopathy in Greece.
Dr. Morrison first became interested in homeopathy when he saw a multiple sclerosis patient who had unexpectedly become well – the so-called spontaneous remission. When he asked her what she had done since her last appointment, she answered, “I’ve begun homeopathic treatment.”
You will hear about the revelation that convinced Dr. Morrison of the power of homeopathy and what he learned about Dr. Hahnemann, creator of homeopathy. You will learn about Hahnemann’s struggle against the prevalent allopathic medical system, which, at that time, used as legitimate medical treatments such horrors as the use of leaches and bloodletting. You will hear just how George Washington, the father of our country, was bled to death by doctors using the then-accepted medical techniques. Our guide in learning about this fascinating field from one of its prime proponents. With professor Morrison, we will explore the theory of homeopathy and how it fits into a holistic framework of medicine.
Homeopathy and allopathic medicine coexist in some countries, but in the United States homeopaths have been seen as unscientific quacks by the competing allopathic system. The American Medical Association, as Dr. Morrison tells us, was actually formed in order to fight against and eliminate homeopathy.
In Wikipedia, it’s called a pseudoscience. Yet, as you will hear, straight from the horse’s mouth, what he saw and experienced in the practice of these techniques. And what he saw was vivid and clear. Let yourself listen to the testimony of this man, who has honest experiences to share with you. Then think about what you can do with the discovery you make.

How to Create Conversations that Matter -A Conversation with Juanita Brown
As you probably know from my recent book, Our Culture On The Couch – Seven Steps to Global Healing, I believe the only way out of our current mess is for us to stop being controlled by our world, but to bring forth the leadership potential within each of us. So we will focus on awakening this leader, on the power of the New Paradigm, and explore the potential of conversation as a transformative tool to leverage personal wisdom and spirit.
Juanita Brown Ph.D. with her partner, David Isaacs is the co-originator of The World Café, a pioneering approach to large scale dialogue and collaborative inquiry being used in corporate, community, government, education, and multi-stakeholder settings around the globe. Hundreds of thousands of people on six continents have experienced the World Café to foster sustainable development, responsible business futures, conflict resol…ution, democratic leadership, and local community engagement around critical issues. Her award-winning book, The World Café: Shaping our Futures through Conversations that Matter, co-authored with her partner David Isaacs and the World Café Community has been translated into 10 languages, and has recently been released in mainland China.
Juanita developed her belief in the power of conversation and community to shape the future through her early years at the Na-Bolom Institute, a center for dialogue and action on indigenous issues and rainforest preservation in Chiapas, Mexico. Juanita was also a key architect in large-scale community development and outreach work with Cesar Chavez and the farm workers movement. She has applied her discoveries about the principles for building engaged communities to the co-evolution of the World Café as social innovation––using both living systems approaches and community development sensibilities to engage a growing global network of multi-generational hosts committed to creating collaborative dialogue and committed action around critical local, national and global issues.
Since 1974, Juanita has collaborated as a strategic thinking partner with senior corporate executives as well as non-profit leaders in the U.S., Latin America, Canada, Europe and the Pacific Rim, advising on large scale change intiatives and creating innovative forums for strategic dialogue around critical organizational and societal issues. Juanita is a Fellow of the World Business Academy and has served as a Senior Affiliate with both the MIT Center for Organizational Learning (now the Society for Organizational Learning) and the Institute for the Future. Her greatest joy, however, is when she finds herself alone in nature on the shores of Tomales Bay, California listening to the loons and seeing the white pelicans floating quietly through the mist.
